Doom and Gloom (2 Viewers)

Right I know I will get shot down in flames for this but however........ I saw some positives from today

I fully expected us to lose to leicester I just hoped with their firepower, that they did not damage our goal difference too much.

I was more concerned about the teams around us I expected Forest to sneak a win at Barnsley they did not. Bristol conceeded 3 at Ipswich, great for goal difference. I thought Doncaster may pull it out of the bag against Brighton at home they didnt. Thought Portsmouth may do one of those win at home backs against the wall reaction, again they were beat. Also as a very long shot Peterborough were beat.
Millwall lost at home. All of these results pleased me I thought it had the potential to be an absolute shocker of a day for us. I dont think it has worked out too bad.

Then I look at the reports of the game we shaved the cross bar, missed a peanlty, had one saved. So despite getting beaten 2-0 by a team full of far better players we had the odd chance. (I did not go to the game those who did may have entirely different views on this point)

Also our bench finally had seasoned professionals on it and not untested kids. When they get a little fitter we will have genuine options.

The negatives for me from today is a another defeat and I wish it was one nill not two.
Why did Clingan take the penalty and not Sheff.
Whats happening with SHITSU and the latest saga
Hope Thorny is ok

He should never have taken that penalty mcsheffrey has been scoring them and he hadn't touched the ball since coming on that would have gave us momentum stupid decision

Very strange I was called into work, did not get to listen to commentary. Hoped someone was going to tell me that sheff was injured or missed some sitters. But just sounds like Clingan is the penalty taker and thats that. In my book if you have taken the last 2 and scored them both you keep going

shoot me too D&G -I agree with you-although Tuesday is a big big game -3 points and those around us losing would really get folk believing

No doom and gloom from me.

I expected defeat, I predicted defeat.

Great news that other results went our way, so that's a positive. I am worried about Tuesday's game though. Palace are not a bad side at all . I'm worried becuase the past 4 or 5 home games we have started very sluggishly and could have been a couple of goals down in a few of them. One of these days we are going to find ourselves two goals down before the game has really got going.

what worries me is..i just dont think we will win all our remaining fixtures at home.we can,but we wont..and with our away form being so dreadful..i only see one result for us...relegation now...we look a beaten team now and games are beginning to run out for us..you could argue..we are only 3 pts from possible getting out of bottom 3...but in reality.i dont think the lads have it in them.i really hope i am wrong..

Totally agree with you, Sylus.

I still very much believe we are going down. We simply cannot and will not maintain this home form and keep winning. Some slip ups are bound to happen.

Which games are they Otis? Middlesbrough definitely, and maybe Ipswich but other than that? Barnsley didn't have a shot all game and Leeds equalised with their first effort on goal. We've looked comfortable at home if anything. Baffling really when you consider just how truly awful we are away from home.

Wouldn't surprise me if we won the next two. Not saying we will, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Leeds should have been at least a goal to the good against us first 20 mins. I recall they had 2 or 3 very good chances.

Bristol, I agree with, they were well in command forst 20 mins though. Luckily they didn't bring their shotting boots with them.

I stand corrected if I am wrong on the Leeds one. Don't think they had a shot on goals, but had a couple of good opportunities inside the box where they should hav done better.

We'll have to agree to disagree about the Leeds game. They had a half chance early, but after that didn't do anything until their goal.

Anyway, I agree that we can't start slowly against Blues. Their recent away form suggets if we do we will be punished. They seem to have hit a little blip though, so hopefully that will continue.

I'm more worried about Tuesday at the moment. Seems to be a lot of doom and gloom about, and they are saying it could be the lowest ever league gate at the Ricoh.

i hope im wrong here.but i think we will draw with palace and lose to brum..then two away games to follow..not good...

Exactly the way I am thinking too.

Draw against Palace, defeat against Brum.

If we lose against Palace we HAVE to beat Brum.

It's not doom and gloom in the sense that we are still in the hunt for survival. It is clear that there are 6 or 7 very poor teams in the league and though we are one of them we are no worse.

Portsmouth I thought would still pick points up but as their situation worsens they seem to be losing their fight. I always thought Doncaster were poor and the nonsense of letting Mackay dictate transfer policy was only going to make it worse. So it may be one place left and we can still survive.

Think we can surive through other teams' ineptitude.

Just how sad is that.

No doubt AT will get the keys to the city though if everyone else proves to be just that little bit crappier than us. Not exactly a ringing endorsement is it that we survive just because other teams are even more awful than we are.

We are in striking distance of survival some thing i definitely didn't expect a couple of months ago. All the bottom 6 or 7 are very poor. Don't know who plays who but we have three at home and one away so it is very much down to us. But we are a very poor team and need our best available, need Wood back, Hussey, McDonald and Eastwood. Not the greatest players in the world but gives us options and numbers.

are.

Agreed. If we somehow survive it will only be through portsmouths collapse and probably a massive decline at Bristol with them getting only 40 points in the end.

Even this still seems unlikely but if it occurs there will be lots of gloating from many who will see this as an endorsement of thorn and will be worshiping at his temple on an even more fanatical scale. Some of us will be taunted but I will still see the bigger picture and that change is still urgently required.

Duffy, its your beloved sisu that have left us in the shit but still you blame thorn. You blame Thorn for everything, why dont you blame sisu, after all they've employed him as manager. Sorry,I forgot, you worship at sisus temple don't you.

If we were to survive on 40 points that will be the lowest total for survival since god knows when.

Of course if we finish well clear and do really well until the end of the season, AT should receive some credit for this. If we don't though, I don't think success can be judged though on another team losing 10 points and other teams just being even more dreadful than us.

A peculiar comment valiant because as you have just said sisu employed him. I was opposed to the appointment as it was a cheap unsuitable option. So logic dictates that I do not support the owners as the asset stripping applies to the management as well as the playing staff. Youre post admits thorn would not be employed without sisu so surely it is the thorn supporters as indeed thorn himself who worships that particular temple.

It still puzzles me how anyone could think we were going to take 3 points yesterday, we have not won away all season and because it was local derby we should have won it against a vastly superior side? I was expecting to lose 3-0 so as predicted really.

We win against palace then the world is right again.

Otis

Did anyone predict a win?

I certainly didn't. I expected a defeat. Was hoping maybe for a goal though. is that too much to ask for? Or at least a bit more of an attcking threat.
