Don't bother clubs have to agree on a price ?Still into the school holidays & I can’t see why Doug & the club…….possibly along with the Oxford ok , couldn’t do a kids for a quid evening.
No pay on the day/gate …… why ….& what are the club trying to do ?

From an attendance POV, drawing Oxford at home was possibly the worst possible draw. Complete lack of interest in the fixture because we’d just played. Oxford away I reckon would’ve been a good crowd, although I was shocked at how bad Oxford’s away following was tonight. It could have been £5 tonight and the crowd would have been the same.
Similar crowds across the matches tonight. Even Leicester only got 13,000 and Tranmere took a few thousand. Similar numbers at Palace too.
Maybe people can't afford two games in 5 days . So would rather go to the Norwich game. Can't say I have much interest in the EFL cup and agree it should be scrapped. From an attendance POV, drawing Oxford at home was possibly the worst possible draw. Personally, I’d scrap the EFL cup altogether.

Unless it’s a big draw, I don’t think anyone cares about that competition until the latter stages.Maybe people can't afford two games in 5 days . So would rather go to the Norwich game. Can't say I have much interest in the EFL cup and agree it should be scrapped.
Unless by chance there is a local derby drawn, pretty much every match in the early rounds of this competition until the big boys enter do have a real pre-season friendly feel to them - low crowds, a lot of changes to teams etc.Unless it’s a big draw, I don’t think anyone cares about that competition until the latter stages.
The games being midweek and so early in the season doesn’t help because
If they kept it, they should trim it down to Championship and Premiership clubs because the L1 & L2 have the JPT (whatever it’s called now).
I’ll be honest, I went through the motions watching the game tonight. I showed up but wasn’t particularly engaged in the game.
It certainly needs a bit of a freshen upFrom an attendance POV, drawing Oxford at home was possibly the worst possible draw. Complete lack of interest in the fixture because we’d just played. Brilliant ideaIt certainly needs a bit of a freshen up
Either make it open to just the clubs who have do not European football, so your middle of the road Premier League sides have more of an incentive to take it seriously as opposed to Man City or Liverpool's second string (who would still beat most Prem sides) winning it 9 times out of 10
Or, a bit of a curveball idea - propose to combine it with the Scottish and Welsh versions of the competition and make it a whole British cup, the French do a similar thing with the with the Coupe De France where clubs from the French colonies and dependencies are invited, a part time side from Martinique in the Caribbean ended up getting quite far and drawing Lille away last season - Lille 12-0 Golden Lion: Martinique side make 8,000-mile round trip in French Cup
Wait till we progress to the final rounds and draw one of the big boys, or even get to Wembley again, the clamouring for tickets would be embarrassing,Personally, I’d scrap the EFL cup altogether.
I’m guessing that the no pay on the gate thing is because these days they want people to buy a ticket so they know exactly who has been to each game. Then when we get to the final there is no one claiming they went to every round but haven’t got any points for it.Still into the school holidays & I can’t see why Doug & the club…….possibly along with the Oxford ok , couldn’t do a kids for a quid evening.

The club should say anyone who went to the Oxford and Bristol matches should get first priority.
It certainly needs a bit of a freshen up

Cant wait for the away trip to Falklands FC.
Look at the gate for Barnsley v Sheff Utd!
Barnsley v Sheff U is not that big of a deal, granted it's a 'derby' but they both hate Wednesday way moreLook at the gate for Barnsley v Sheff Utd!
Other than them both being in Lancs does Blackpool and Blackburn really constitute a derby? Again both have sides they hate way moreAnd Blackburn v Blackpool

We have reduced prices in the past and it made minimal impact on attendances. As somebody said above the club starts to lose money what with the fees for actually holding the game
Even if it was Birmingham or Leicester I wouldn't pay £30 quid for a league cup game. Especially when we have another home game on Saturday.I understand that there's an economic argument, but if this fixture was Leicester or Birmingham in the cup, people would find the £30 for a ticket if it was home or away.
There's next to zero interest in the EFL Cup and as well as being an inconvenience being midweek, as it's early in the season there were times last night and Bristol in the cup it felt like an extended pre-season. The cherry on the top is deja vu of playing 2 consecutive games against the same opponents.
They'll use all sorts of reasons to justify!Get not reducing prices but no POTG just doesn't make sense.
In fairness, it’s quite a flight from Bangkok for you!Even if it was Birmingham or Leicester I wouldn't pay £30 quid for a league cup game. Especially when we have another home game on Saturday.
