I also feel that he thought he had become untouchable.
I know it is only one game but I genuinely believe Carlsey’s stock took a major battering purely off his baffling approach to the England Greece game at Wembley where he picked the weirdest team selection ever seen and what seemed like a half arsed attitude towards getting the job permanently afterwardsI preferred Carsley at the time Lampard was employed it shows how you can be wrong. Robins had gone stale and should have gone sooner, I also feel that he thought he had become untouchable.
Could be, wfh is the norm for civil servants these days. But would a civil servant choose to wfh in London? So you work for the government then as a civil servant.
Wasn't that because he'd got wind of the Tuchel approach?I know it is only one game but I genuinely believe Carlsey’s stock took a major battering purely off his baffling approach to the England Greece game at Wembley where he picked the weirdest team selection ever seen and what seemed like a half arsed attitude towards getting the job permanently afterwards
How exactly did Coventry City's owner Doug King make his cash?
FLW have taken a deeper dive into Sky Blues chief King's fortunesfootballleagueworld.co.uk
Since Boxing day it's 7 conceded in 11 league games. Leeds and Norwich being the only teams to score more than one. Watford, Cardiff, and Sheff W. Being the other 3. It couldn't be just luck could it?I think we have a better squad, (Robins was often left short on numbers), though 1st choice 11 v 1sr choice 11 the play off final teamwas hands down much better.
And I'm fairly sure the style we're playing now isn't the long term vision, but we're on a run that's put us in play off contention so why change now?
As for the defence, 4 conceded in 7 league games, 2 v Leeds, that's a very good record.
Not just that our last two goals conceded outside of Leeds in the league are both own goals.Since Boxing day it's 7 conceded in 11 league games. Leeds and Norwich being the only teams to score more than one. Watford, Cardiff, and Sheff W. Being the other 3. It couldn't be just luck could it?
Let’s not credit Lampard and his coaching team, let’s ascribe everything to luck.Since Boxing day it's 7 conceded in 11 league games. Leeds and Norwich being the only teams to score more than one. Watford, Cardiff, and Sheff W. Being the other 3. It couldn't be just luck could it?
None of our players are awful, even Dasilva who I don’t rate at all isn’t awful in generalI’m not getting carried away with all this. We’ve had some very favourable results recently but we still look incredibly fragile and have rode our luck. The passing out from the back nonsense is a nightmare waiting to happen and we still have some awful players in the first team.
We have been propped up by a goalkeeper who has grown in confidence and a striker who on his day looks good at this level.
We are nowhere near the team that got to the play off final under MR.
Lets hope Lampard can emulate that but he will need better players in defence to achieve that.
I listened to a Harry Redknapp interview on The Rest is Football podcast. He actually warned Lampard against the Coventry job saying it will be a very tough job to follow Mark Robins. Fair play to Lampard for having the hunger to take the job on and doing very well so farHarry Redknapp?
It was probably a bit of a double bluff. If it all goes tits up, Lampard was doomed from the start. If it goes unbelievably well, then Lampard has done even better than it appears given how tough a job following Robins was.I listened to a Harry Redknapp interview on The Rest is Football podcast. Ray Charles would probably do better than Coco the clown and he's been 6 feet under for decades. It would be unfair to not give Lampard credit for the turnaround, but even Stevie Wonder could have seen putting Dovin in goal instead of Coco the c**t would improve things, let alone adding another defender to the mix.
That’s called “Business”Funny that Doug knows more than most of us about football. Took the emotion out of the decision and did the right thing.
His song got an airing too!Thank you Doug. Got the appointment of Lampard spot on. He will take us to the next level.
In fact, had he not took that 2nd spell at Chelsea, he’d probably be in consideration for top end Championship roles.
Like us then.
Let's hope so.I love it, we’re killing it atm and FL deserves the credit he deserves. We’re 1pt off 5th place and we’ve got the team to go all the way!
You know the knickers stitchers are going to try Thier look don't you.
Let's hope so.
If you say something like that you immediately become a hostage to fortune.
Remember when we all lost our heads because we didn't hit the points target
No?

It’s baffling as to why Robins and early Lampard failed to see what as a fan base i think we were saying for a few months - specifically:
When fit Dovin should have played
Kitching is our best CH.
Kitching and Thomas our best pairing
Too early for Bassette over proven scorers Simms and BTA.
This now seems embedded and with Lampard being allowed to add Grimes the results are happening
