Doug King out (1 Viewer)

He’s walked into a club on a massive upwards trajectory, a winning formula, burgeoning fan base and decided right everything is going well but let’s rip it all up and start again, it’s backfired massively.

All of the blame is at Doug King’s feet and I genuinely believe it’s impossible for him to win the fans back around.

It’s not impossible though is it - hire a manager that turns out to be good, and we’ll all be behind him again

let’s not pretend we’re any different to any other fanbase. We’ll be as fickle as everyone of them

Record transfer income and spending

Redeveloped the training ground

Revolutionised the commercial side of the club

Record season ticket sales

King modernised the club.

The record income and the season ticket sales have little to do with him. As for 'revolutionising' the commercial side of the club, the upper tier of the West Stand is still empty. It's probably best to wait to see the accounts before making that statement.

I’ve got some doubts about King but I don’t think that we’ll progress as a club by trying to tear down the owner. We’ve just lost a club legend, I get the frustration but I don’t think we need to make it worse by trying to oust the club owner as well, let’s just give it a chance and see who we get as manager 🤷🏻‍♂️ If we end up with Lampard then by all means we should be marching to the Ricoh 😂

But surely by your own logic you'd just wait to see how Lampard does

The relationship with supporters is clearly going to be strained for some time to come now .. genuinely

That is a very good point, you got me there 🤔😂 I just think we all know Lampard is shit so it’s an easy decision not to go there, I’m open to the suggestion of these Rohl-type managers that people haven’t really heard of though. I’m not saying that’s the best option but it’s definitely better than the Lampard or Rooney crowd etc.

He isn't shite though really, his record is good at this level. It's only his spell at Everton which isn't that good and is still no worse than their general level over the past few years

Absolutely shocked hearing the news Robins has been sacked.
What we do know is tho

£40 something million has been spent

Training ground has been upgraded

We fans have spent a boat load on season tickets, merchandise and everhthing else that comes with supporting a football club

An army of 'fuck knows what they do' are now sat behind Robins in the dugout

We lost Gyok, Hamer, O'Hare, Palmer, Fadz, Godden and Kelly, some seriously influential/ experienced leaders in that group.

We never replaced Hamer and to a lesser extent O'Hare.

We were crying out for a CM, CB, LB, Gk as absolute an priority before we even considered improving the Forward positions.

We signed Mason Clarke, Rudoni, Asante, Bassette, Dovin and Raphael Borgues.

The team as a collective has performed terrible and results have also been poor.

So for me is this all on Robins?
Did Robins identify and sign all those players?
Was it recruitment?
What have the new coaching staff brought to the table?
Why was it our priority signing was Stamenic that deal fell through and we didn't go back in for the same type of player ability wise.

Things are a fucking mess for me, granted performances, tactics have been absolutely dreadful and so have the players, yes you can blame Robins to some extent, but for me this group of players are weak minded, have no fight in them and get bullied by poor but physical sides.

Milan, Haji and Sheaf are the 3 players in our squad that will inevitably move on to a level above us.

The rest of our squad just lacks leadership, desire or any fluidity and you have to look at whether this is Robins, recruitment or coaching.

We can all see what Robins is capable of, so for me most of this is a fucking Doug King backed shit show.

We want stability if Lumpwood came here and done reasonably well he would be off like a rocket at the first opportunity
Lumpwood ? Is he a manager?
You can't have a manager called Lumpwood, surely. That's ridiculous.

I don't know enough about this and perhaps I'm not alone .
How much of this £40m was spent on players? How much on coaches, Ryton etc ?

How much of top players leaving was on Robins ? Hamer and Gyok were always going to leave . McFadzean was very strange for me. It certainly came out of the blue and for me that is the point at which I began to think things weren't right .

The post title "Doug King Out" ??

Now let's all calm down folks. I am gutted and frankly pissed off with the way he sacked MR, and getting rid of Adi and Laurence. A winning combination BUT let's see how this plays out and what Doug does now.

I don't know what he is playing at but damn did he throw that curve ball at us this morning. It sure has ruffled a lot of feathers and highly so.

I hope he delivers but knowing the club history with owners, they never come to fruition.

DK owns the club good luck in trying to get rid of him. Look how long it took to get rid of the odious Sisu lot .
