@Saddlebrains said on another thread that Lawrence wasn't offered a new contract. That was the first time I'd heard that but it just adds more weight to the theory that this has been in the planning for some time. Our problems started way back last season after the Wolves game with Dennis Lawrence leaving. Our league form after the Wolves game wasn’t great, but we were in the FA cup semi final so it kind of masked it. Then Adi Viveash leaving in the summer, totally out of the blue and no one knows the real reason why he was booted out. To me, i think that was pre-planned, because quickly after we had all these new coaches arriving - The club taking a new direction, following what most other clubs are doing.
Tell you one thing, he needs to get this right otherwise the backlash will be much bigger. The new ‘Head Coach’ will need to hit the ground running straight away.
I think we'll have someone appointed early next week. We’ll see. The impression I got from the press release is we haven’t even started looking yet.
Probably true, could have been planned all along, even back then. I think this is the catalyst to our downfall we are all seeing this season. The honeymoon period is well and truly over between Doug King and fans. He has to get the next manager right!@Saddlebrains said on another thread that Lawrence wasn't offered a new contract. Wouldn't surprise me if it is announced Monday morningI think we'll have someone appointed early next week.
he lies for clout though
he got offered a better job elsewhere
cool but it doesn't stop it being trueIn isolation I'd accept that, with everything else that's gone on I just don't accept the club narrative on anything at the moment.
It hasnt gone unnoticed that this decision has been made when there is nearly two weeks until the next home game (also on sky)
A cowards decision to sack Robins now, and aim to control the reaction with his “fans forum” infront of a couple of hundred (at most) rather than face the music at a home game in front of 10’s of thousands.
He’ll hope to have a new appointment in place by then that will change the atmosphere and sentiment in the ground.
I have been firmly in the “Doug has good intentions camp” up until this point. I simply cannot get behind this decision and the manner in which it has been carried out.
I accept you don't like his song (won't get sung again by City fans), I also get that he looks like a 'posh ex public schoolboy' which doesn't resonate with your average football fan, but this decision is hardly spineless (he knows how popular MR is with the fanbase). I think he'd made the decision before the Luton/Boro games, and has already got someone lined up. We;ll see who that is early next week. 99% of City fans love MR, and will be forever grateful for what he has done, but something has been off for at least 6 months, and DK has decided to intervene. It may be ruthless, but that doesn't smack of spineless. We will need to wait a few months to see if it was a terrible decision or not. Next 5 games or so are horrible though. PUSBLike I said on another thread, considering how that narcissistic, cock breath twat is coming on the pitch after being in charge for 4 months, jigging along to his stupid song, front and centre of the squad photo, he’s now decided to take the coward’s walk and hide away all of a sudden…. Absolute disgrace of a man, no spine whatsoever.
Very sensible post-King may have not read the room fully but spineless he isn’t. He has made a massive call and only time will tell if it’s the right one.I accept you don't like his song (won't get sung again by City fans), I also get that he looks like a 'posh ex public schoolboy' which doesn't resonate with your average football fan, but this decision is hardly spineless (he knows how popular MR is with the fanbase). "A cowards decision " is utter bollocks. He's given himself time to find the replacement. It takes massive bollocks to sack a managerial legend loved by the fans . He stands or falls by this decision- its a massive gamble on his part. Spin is not a good trait. It hasnt gone unnoticed that this decision has been made when there is nearly two weeks until the next home game (also on sky)

have it on good authority. king contacted Robins at 12:30am to tell him he’s no longer required
thats appalling from king
You’re not reading the whole thing and putting in your own punctuation."A cowards decision " is utter bollocks. He's given himself time to find the replacement. Far better to have gone behind Robins back and announced the new person on the same day as the sacking. You’re not reading the whole thing and putting in your own punctuation.
i believe it is a cowards decision to do it so far away from a home game, to go into hiding until his orchestrated “fans forum” and refuse requests for national and local media to talk to him.
Also ABSOLUTELY ludicrous to sack Robins AND THEN start looking for a replacement.
Spin is exactly what he will do on Monday, he wont be held to account for it.
Doug drunk sacking Robins was the twist this story needed!
'As you know Mark, there's gonna be some redundancies and you've made my life easier in that I'm going to let you go first.'Your me bess fuckin' mate, but I'm gonna have to let you go, its breaking my fucking heart pal.
