It's probably been mentioned but can't be bothered to trawl through the thread, but are Boddy and Fisher gone, will he get in his own staff in and what about Ryton, who has that. Soz if it's already been mentioned

Whats getting me is weve heard fuck all about his plans for the team

All been a last minute pathetic attempt at getting the arena

Will MR be given money?
You say no one needs to be sold, in that case will you hand new contracts out to the big 4?
Will you attend every game?
Will you spruce Ryton up so its not 1980s style?
You claim to have £25 Million ready to go for the arena, can you commit some of that to the playing squad for the next few seasons?

Hes just been soundbutes and pacifying statements

Seen fuck all that makes me think hes anything more than, as Slowpoke put well, the different cheek of the same arse
The guy has been in the hot seat for 2 days!!
(Officially not even the owner until he passed the EFL test).
Give him chance for gods sake.

I just can’t take the whole bouffant, open necked shirt, tan thing seriously. There’s just something fundamentally unserious about it. But to his credit he’s done more media in two days than Joy has in 15 years.

Willing to give him until Feb 1st to see how he manages arguably our most important window in 20 years.

First step is for him to be approved by the EFL and the majority shareholder takeover is complete.

On completion once he’s confirmed I suspect we will hear more about his plans for the club. We’ve had some sound bites which have been positive. Let’s see if he follows through.

Currently he can’t just rock up at Ryton to speak to Robins and meet the squad. He’s mentioned he likes the way recruitment is done based on analytics to unearth gems like Sheaf, Hamer, CoH and Vik. If he funds more of these type of players I won’t be complaining.

You have to give Doug a clean slate. Majority of people wanted Sisu out and they’re potentially now in the background as a 15% interested party.

He’s admitted that Sisu has run its course and they can’t do much more. So he’s the man to invest and take us to next level. Again let’s see over the next few transfer windows and what investment comes in off the field.

Ryton is a mess. Not fit for modern day professional Champ club with Premiership ambitions. Will he redevelop that or we move to a new training complex.

Lots of unknowns here and this came out of nowhere. But did it? We knew Sisu were selling or looking for partners. Times news article, Simon Jordan taking a look etc.

The team is on the up and maybe this was the right time for Sisu to sit back and bring someone in to take the club to the next level. Why not take 15% if we can make the Premiership.

I won’t get overly excited just yet but potentially this could be amazing. It’s what we all wanted. Let’s see what Doug can do with a bit of investment to support Robins and the club. Intriguing times ahead for us fans.

Class post…..we’ve been shat on by owners for so long it’s right to be cautious, but it’s also right to get a bit excited if it starts to unfold in a genuine way.

He's a massive fan of fox hunting and other blood sports, has an enormous collection of Nazi memorabilia, and is building up framed photos of Villa players to dot around the training ground as inspiration.
Really? Oh no, that's awful. I mean I get the Nazi scruff to a degree and blood sports is probably acceptable too, but photos of VILLA players? 😳🤬😱

Have to agree with the above, the cynic in me asks where has this guy has suddenly come from but at the moment he is saying what fans want hear and I’m going to cut him some slack and see if he is good to his word. Just because he is unknown where Mike Ashley is well known to me makes no difference had he rode into town dressed like an Arab Sheik making all these positive statements we would all be rubbing our hands wouldn’t we. So for me it’s now a sit back and see we have a month of World Cup then back to the nitty-gritty of the championship 6 games until the Bristol City match on New Year’s Day when the window opens so let’s just see where we are and what might transpire in January.
One thing for certain and I hope he reads this renague on his statements the wrath of the fan base will be on him big time.

Mark my words. This guy will be a disaster.

Wonderful. any particular reason? My biggest concern is that he’s probably a rugby type bloke rather than football. He gives the impression that he’s never been to a game or he’s been part of the prawn sandwich brigade, whereby it’s nit about football but networking. He carrys Super confidence, but that doesn‘t go far.

If he does back track i’m not too bothered. I’d be looking at an exit if I were him.

Doug King is not his real name, he's a hired actor paid by SISU and is just playing a role. Heard it here first

If it’s arguably the most important window I sense you must think we’ve got a chance

Do you see us challenging for promotion then if we retain the squad?

I’m not sure how he can make a no sales promise if some top flight clubs come in offering stupid money for Gyo and he wants out. Then really it’s a question of how much Robins sees of it.

I still can’t believe the improvement in his game. He could easily be one of the top strikers in the country in 18 months if he keeps progressing as he has the last 18

In the same bracket as Haaland? Don’t see that to be honest but agree he still has room to get even better

He can’t the difference hopefully is if we get let’s say in round figures £10million for a player the bulk of that I’d say 7/8 million is spent on the team and not disappearing in a handbag somewhere like the Cayman Islands.

Funny thing is it don't seem like he wants out for the sake of it which is good news...PUSB

It will hopefully at least make any fee we get higher if we’re under less financial pressure. Will see when January comes

I think we have the best chance of playoffs since relegation if we keep the squad together, yes. But also we have some of our biggest assets in years likely at selling point and how we reinvest will determine the next few years.
