This squad is on its arse, he better invest sharpish and stop fucking about.

Seems to be on the case already

I don't think he realised how much money it costs to run a football team and seems out of his depth already. Even Joy put her hand in her handbag not long after taking charge to buy Dan and Fox.
Then he was guilty of gross negligence in his due diligence and can hardly be described as a businessman.

he put in a conditional £25m stadium bid and I doubt he had performed any due diligence on that hence the "conditional" bid. That was back in mid-nov. Not sure the vision he talked about for the club would survive a decent grilling by Dragon's Den lots of aspirations but maybe there is a master plan and we will know in time.

Ashley spending a lot of money on the stadium I still think he might come for the club eventually.
How about Ashley buys the club, builds a smaller stadium at Warwick Uni which then allows him to demolish the CBS Arena and use the land for what he really wants it for? :)

Dann and Fox signed on deadline day 6 weeks after SISU came in.

Is he just out of his depth because he hasn't spent eleventy billion on players in the first two weeks?

It's too early to have any idea what it's going to be like so far and I don't think we'll be any clearer until we see what happens in the summer.

what's being done, is it just the maintenance that's been neglected for years or is there more work underway? first thing they need to do is get the wasps signs gone

I'm sure he confirmed in his interview, that he hadn't done any due diligence, due to the lateness of the deal with SISU.
Looking back, what was the point of the bid..it was never a runner ?

Not saying it was genuine but due to coming to the party late he had no choice, William Storey DID have the rights (thanks SISU).
.
No due diligence was because he never had the time to do it (thanks again William Storey), once he got the go-ahead to bid the figures wanted (only SISU Know the real figures) , ( it was too late) Willam Storey/sisu had made him bid to late.

Im not saying he has the money, but to beat him otherwise is wrong. He needs a chance to prove himself, he has said money is available for the right purchase, he just won't throw money around.

I think it’s very clear the plan is maintenance this year with a big push next. Both he and robins have indicated the same

What it does mean is that when, his tenure comes to an end, he will be easier to dislodge than SISU (unless they have some sort of first dibs on buy back - please God, no) so hopefully, should he be out of his depth, a 'better'. more affluent owner may be able to be found. Hopefully King Doug does well for us.

More worryingly, he said he hadn't really thought about the stadium!

Due diligence on the stadium would have had nothing to do with Sisu

Didn't worry me. I took it to be an "I don't want to talk about that" answer.

If he'd said he was going ahead with the new stadium, it sets a short (ish) term for negotiations with Fraser Group, where they may be less inclined to give us a deal that works for both parties.

If he'd said the project was dead, it takes away any (admittedly small) leverage that it might provide in those same negotiations.

I wasn't meaning the new stadium 'plan' at Warwick. When quizzed about the late bidding for CBS, he said he hadn't really thought about it before - give me long enough I'll find you the spot in his interview, but I do have to do *some* work now and again.

I mean, if I was buying a football club, I'd think about their home a little bit.

Fair enough.

Apologies for my misinterpretation.

I'm not trying to defend him against all-comers, but given the timescales involved with the takeover, I'm not sure what more he could have practically done with the CBS.

Would seem a bit weird to have not thought about a place you've just bid £25m for.

It's a ridiculous carry-on.
