You sure that wasps would have to pay it
The council have millions in reserve, which they hold on to rather than use on behalf of the local tax payer. So actually there would be no practical impact on the council taxpayer. Of course, individual councillors could be held personally culpable at some cost to themselves. The councillors don’t give a shit about the citizens of coventry: it’s their own arses they are trying to cover. The council aren't in the shit if they lose its us council tax payers that are
They may have signed up to no legal action against wasps, but that wouldn’t stop them taking action against the council, with whom they have no commercial relationship. There could end up being significant financial reparations to be made by wasps which could put them in the financial shit. Hey ho, never mind, only collateral damage.Didn't sisu sign something to call off all legal action going forward about the sale of the ricoh?
Don't mention Les Reid to those Council tweeters! Just had a bit of a back and forth with CW (apparently ex council!)Need a Les Reid write up now on what he knows!
You mean Martin Reeves who along with Chris West was one of two council execs at ACL? Presumably the two Ann Lucas was referring to when she said she hadn't repeatedly lied to the people of Coventry but instead had been given incorrect information by the council officers at ACL. Sure he'll be a great help. The Chief Exec of Coventry CC need to reign these guys in.
Take solace that the replies are almost unanimously critical of him.
Think they are going too overboard nowBar that bellend John Stretton. He doesn’t even follow a single person so why have twitter? I’ve just had to mute him. Only other person I’ve ever muted was Hopkins.

These two are the main reason we have been shafted while at the Ricoh!! They should be vilified as much as duggins Lucas and mutton! You mean Martin Reeves who along with Chris West was one of two council execs at ACL? It begs the question why are they still so involved? Is it that they are still employed somehow or are they desperate to cover their tracks?Yeah the ones who apparently mistakenly told her ACL was doing fine? One got nearly half a mill pay off the other gets promoted to the boss of the council.
Unbelievable isn't it. I'm in nowhere near as senior a position as those two but if I made a mistake like that I'd be battling to keep my job. They get bonuses and promotions.Yeah the ones who apparently mistakenly told her ACL was doing fine? One got nearly half a mill pay off the other gets promoted to the boss of the council.
He already is there the titWho lets him release this stuff, writes like a petulant child. "Let me temporarily occupy a parallel universe" stay there you twat.
Duggins has inadvertently contradicted previous council rhetoric about how they insured CCFC had a home. Like I've said countless times, the council wanted that stadium as much as if not more than the club, and if obtaining it meant emasculating the club as collateral damage then no problem cos it's jobs innit.
Shame most employees at the Arena are on zero hours contracts, which Labour policy states should be banned.
FearWhat prompted him to release that statement now?
Yet the local media refuse to pick him up on those contradictions. That's the thing, Duggins keeps contradicting and going on about re-writing history. He doesn't actually disprove anything.
Once again something the local media should be all over. If the council and Wasps are so certain they have done nothing wrong why do they appear to be so concerned about a potential EC investigation.Fear
Wasnt it at the same time ACL were ploughing money into Weber Shandwick and their "Media War"?Nobody can be as naive as Gilbert is making himself out to be. Arguing over semantics of what happened in 2012 is a waste of time, the key point is that it was the council that approached Wasps - not the other way around.
And his claim that the Telegraph did any sort of investigative journalism is laughable. There's over 2 years between the council first speaking to Wasps and the story featuring in the Telegraph during which time we know that the Telegraph suppressed the story of the council bailout of ACL, clearing the way for the sale to Wasps, at the councils request. Can any Telegraph reader really be confident that when the story was eventually 'broken' by Gilbert it wasn't prompted by the council and their desire to present the story in a way that benefited them.
The idea that it prevented the deal being done behind closed doors is ludicrous. It was done at a council meeting closed to the public of which no record at all exists.

He keeps claiming that ACL and the council were different entities without acknowledging the people running ACl were heavily intertwined with CCC.Nobody can be as naive as Gilbert is making himself out to be. Duggins harps on about the unanimous agreement of 54 councillors from all sides was a good thing and proves they were right, but to me it does just the opposite.Unbelievable isn't it. I'm in nowhere near as senior a position as those two but if I made a mistake like that I'd be battling to keep my job. They get bonuses and promotions.
I haven't tweeted him but I will give you his response alreadyHaven’t got twitter, can someone ask him to ask why the CCC and Wasps keep trotting out the “ongoing legals” and if they can clarify and expand on what they see is “legals”
Followed by the terms - do they want CCFC/SISU to cover losses in the unlikely event the the complaint uncovers state aid?
He can’t use NDAs because Les Reid is always giving out info
Especially if you consider the point at which they suddenly became unanimous was a meeting Wasps were at but the public banned, and of which no record was kept. Prior to that it was being reported as being very much split.Duggins harps on about the unanimous agreement of 54 councillors from all sides was a good thing and proves they were right, but to me it does just the opposite.
It smells of collusion and cover-up.
Problem is we’ve not been asking for his opinion - we want him to investigate thoseI haven't tweeted him but I will give you his response already
"I'm not here to present an opinion just putting the facts out there"
