What a crock of shit. Having avoided it for years gave it a go. Sold something, have had to pay fees, postage and all sort, and I don't get my payment for the item for 3 weeks even though dude has paid.
What a fucking scam

Why 3 weeks? If you sell something you do have to pay to post, do usually pass it on to the buyer.

Nick, They've got a new system where they only release funds once you have been given positive feedback or automated payment after 3 weeks, same thing happened to me. Ebay is just another amazon now. Ebay was so much better when it was just an online car boot sale.

As above Nick. Chap has paid money into PayPal but is pending. Meanwhile I am out of pocket. I did add postage but still nearly a tenner on eBay and PayPal fees on a 45 pound sale. Think I'll stick to local buy and sell sites

Once upon a time I made a decent living out of ebay, but then they put their fees up so I went and got a proper job. Sure I read somewhere they now take a cut of postage costs too. I was once Shropshire's biggest seller. Happy days. Never had an issue with paypal.

Had £6k stolen out of my bank account about 7 years ago through PayPal. Got it all back to be fair but haven't used it since. Don't trust it.

Further help please people. So I actually got my payment and was £47 in my paypal account. I withdrew it leaving zero. Now this bellend says the item isn't as described and wants to return. Ok I'll live with that. However my paypal is now -47 quid. So is he already reimbursed and I don't even have the item back. Also when it does come back what happens. I've got to find 47 quid to reimburse him and 47 quid to bring me level in my paypal account. Fucking confusing me

But if it's taken 3 weeks to get paid and you have been surely he has had more than enough time to have registered his dissatisfaction?

Actually the payment came through much quicker once I had sent a tracking number and to be fair to the chap he registered dissatisfaction straight away. I just don't understand the financial logistics

If your account is now down then he must have claimed a refund from Paypal but they would normally send you a dispute email I think.

Thanks mate. So when I receive item back and "issue refund" who am I refunding, my PayPal account?

If your account is down £47, my guess is that they have taken it out of your pay pal account and its being held by pay pal pending the outcome of the dispute. If Ebay decide a refund is appropriate he will be asked to send it back to you and provide a tracking number for the package and then when he does this he will be refunded and you will remain £47 in debt on pay pal account, if ebay decide a refund isn't appropriate your pay pal balance will go back to £0.

I thinks that is how it works.

I thought / hoped similar. Tell you one thing though, never again.
Thanks for taking time to explain

Bloody hell! I used to make £££hundreds on Ebay but haven't used it for about 3 years. I was thinking of starting up again, but reading the above posts, I think I'll give it a permanent miss!
