More likely seems to be a further postponement of play resuming.
Yes I think you’re probably right, but it’s extremely unlikely this season is going
To be played out on the pitch ‘so they’re going to have to bring it to a conclusion
Somehow, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Needs to be called it’s insane to think anything else is possible. Then plan to start next season and clubs can plan for next season

Really don't see how it can be, needs to come to a conclusion for the competitions integrity & avoid a myriad of lawsuits & contractual issues.
Makes far more sense to shorten next season when there's a level playing field.

Apologies it's from the Daily Fail, but this is a good article highlighting loads of issues that 'null & void' would throw up.

I believe the season should be concluded now and champions/promotions decided on a points per game ratio. Perhaps no relegations and run with odd numbers for next season and even them up for 2021/22.

However - I fear they are just kicking the can down the road and will eventually do what they have done for lower leagues and just void the season. The proviso is that I fear they will then decide to award the Premier League to Liverpool anyway, so as to avoid the protests and whingeing from 'Self-pity City'.

It has been clear for sometime the season will not be completed. We will be lucky if we are coming out of this by September at the earliest.

I am anticipating the season being expunged.

I think this season should be played out to a conclusion, how ever long it takes, and either have next season delayed until say October start or played in a shortened form. Say you only play each team once not twice. So 50% of teams at home and 50% a way Drawn by a ballot.
Either way, lets hope we are in the championship next year

No chance I would say, Hobo.

Just cannot see that at all. Only scenario is to work it out on current standings or PPG

Why not? They have expunged results below National Leagues so surely have to be consistent or it opens up a minefield of litigation. It is not as though there are a handful of games left, a lot could happen.

You are taking your view because we happen to be top. What if we were eighth?

But the EPL statement reads to me as if they're going to complete their season.
How can the EFL do different?

Same.

Are you saying that Liverpool should not be declared champions then?

It so, can you pop up the Mersey Tunnel and let them know.

The only fair system is finish the season, or go for current standings or PPG.

Where was your outcry for teams below National Leagues? Liverpool should be treated like everyone else.

There are over 100 clubs appealing the decision. I think it may well be reversed.

I think that expunging all results of a league that has played over 75% of its games is a ridiculous notion.

I really cannot see them doing that. It would be disastrous.

Outcry? Outcry for leagues I know hardly anything about at all. I haven't made any outcry about anyone.

I have no outcry for Liverpool either. I am simply saying it would be nonsensical to not award them the league title.

Do that and it has to filter down.

This NL clubs are part-time. That has very much come into the thinking here.

Common sense has to prevail. Voiding an entire season is without any common sense at all.

Not necessarily Hobo.
There aren't the financial implications down at that level.

Sadly I don’t see any chance of an early resumption of the season be lucky if it’s August/ September imo. and then I reckon it will be behind closed doors for a while. Going to take a long time to get back to normal, I wonder if the EFL will stick to their season must finish stance.
I also worry if we will be allowed St.Andrews again but that’s a different topic.

How about using the cricket way of sorting things out - along the lines of the Duckworth/Lewis method, suitably tweaked for use in football. Don't know how it works, but then I think it's a mystery to some cricket fans.

That would probably have us having to play one single game to complete the season, but also have us having to win by 11 clear goals.

But if the EPL says they're finishing the season How can the EFL do anything different?
The PL/championship Promotion and relegation has to be sorted before a season can start so the Chapionship has to operate on the same timescale as the PL surely?
I can't see the EFL doing anything different to the EPL. I can't see how it can work.
