Exactly. Every team has dead games at the end of the season. Is it now going to be acceptable for teams to say they don't want to play them as it will cost money?Only dead rubber fixtures because they have nothing to play for. Can we all start to call them dead rubber when cash gets a bit tight. sets a very dangerous precedent.
Surely a dead rubber fixture is where both teams have nothing to play for? In those fixtures, Stoke Luton and Everton, each match meant a great deal to us. In addition, Stoke and Luton players certainly weren’t taking it easy and made life as difficult for us as they could. We did once survive on dead rubber fixtures and Norwich were relegated which only happened due to timing
Man is a pure nobWhat the hell? Geez.

Also, are they really dead games. They are 8 points clear of relegation with 9 games to go and Tranmere have a game in hand on them. They've lost 3 of their last 4. If that was us I wouldn't be considering things all over and looking to next season.

"If it is a choice for us between playing dead rubber fixtures or surviving, we will be surviving"

I saw all three of those games. Stoke were shocking all season and in that game we were as bad as them. The one think that you could say for both teams was that they gave their best, in other words Stoke didn’t simply roll over. Ian Painter was the guy who missed the pen and later signed for us.No the point is teams with zero to play for and under this backdrop will have a totally different outlook than if they were playing in the actual season. Stoke were shite and the guy who missed a penalty we oddly signed and never played, the Everton game was a disgrace - we’d have gone down if they were played as normal fixtures
The EFL saw the backlash from the lower National Leagues when they arbitrarily voided the season, so they decided to separate the questions.Yeah but how can they vote without knowing that?
^ I suspect that too.So when will it be opportune to decide the outcome of that league?
Once they've tricked leagues 2and1 into the same decision.
Sure I saw an article yesterday suggesting Prem + Championship only to be resolved through playing of games.

By putting it out as a vote, they already know which way it'll go as it's in the interest of 75% of clubs to end it now.
How many L1 teams actually have nothing to play for? Holt keeps banging on about it but Accrington are far from safety.Clubs with nothing to play for aren't going to retain players once their contracts are up, so Holt is right, they will be playing the kids.

The league won’t be voided that is a decision that takes balls the EFL don’t have balls they will do as their told by the premier league so these silly little meetings they keep having are irrelevant tbh
Any club that votes for null and voiding should be forced to pay back ticket money, sponsorship money etc that they have gained through the season.
and presumably West Ham will reinstate Pellegrini as manager if the results from this season are declared void.
They are pricks, hipster pricksWhile we're putting the world to rights can we also say fair play that Wimbledon have got back to the EFL and are getting Plough Lane back but what they're doing to Kingstonians is an outrage.
I used to live with a guy who followed Dulwich hamlet (he was a hipster prick too) and he said Wimbledon are roundly hated in non-league.They are pricks, hipster pricks

What's going on?While we're putting the world to rights can we also say fair play that Wimbledon have got back to the EFL and are getting Plough Lane back but what they're doing to Kingstonians is an outrage.
Kingstonian let them play at Kingsmeadow when they re-formed, a few years in they got into financial trouble and Wimbledon bought the ground from them. Fast forward to now and as the Dons are moving back to Plough Lane they got more cash out of selling Kingsmeadow to Chelsea who want it for exclusive use of their Women's and Under 23s leaving Kingstonian homeless. What's going on?

Just a thought - if the season is declared null and void will the players have to give back appearance/goal/assist bonuses etc seeing as they'll have never had occured?

Certainly there are those who do not want any success whatsoever under the current owners but I'm not sure whether any of them post on hereTo me it seems like a few certain posters on here are hoping the season is declared null and void
That’s fine but then don’t go on about it being for a million other reasons. If the season is cancelled to me the definition is null and void in which case we go back to the start .If their interpretion is to finish the season and award promotion and relegation I don't think our division would quite get the 75% which would be needed I could see a least 6 teams that would disagee taking it just below that magic number or would it be all the EFL votes counted together.
As for Andy Holt he is only trying to save his own clubs interest just like I would expect ours to do the same.
Don’t forget to smash the bogs up :emoji_thinking: whatever the scoreBuilt a bar in the garden.... with a screen... for purely selfish reasons I would like the season completed with all games screened. So I can get drunk ... do a one man conga up the garden if we win and throw bar stools around if we lose. Only draw back is Neighbours on both sides are Notts Forest so nobody to celebrate with over a garden fence.
