After a full and comprehensive review of the Club submissions, alongside consideration of views stated at the Club meetings of 13 and 15 May 2020, the Board unanimously agreed to continue with the original approach and is now proposing to call a meeting of Clubs on Monday 8 June 2020 to consider and, if thought fit, approve the proposals to introduce the Regulation change.

The EFL Articles allow Member Clubs the opportunity to propose amendments to Regulations and should any Club wish to propose an alternative, it must do so by submitting such a proposal by no later than 2.00pm on Tuesday 2 June 2020.

I wonder with the PL agreeing to PPG if they can't play it out if that weakens the stance of those that oppose it in League 1?

We had the Tranmere chap saying they'd be relegated by 0.04 PPG which does sound harsh but in PL...

If 5th place qualifies for Champions League this season with the Man City ban then Sheffield United would miss out by 0.01 PPG.

Tighter still down the bottom; Bournemouth, Watford & West Ham all have an identical 0.93 PPG.
Bournemouth would be relegated on Goal Difference.

All a moot point as PL should be able to play providing no second spike but interesting that they're prepared to adopt PPG as the fairest alternative model.

We are way behind PL. They'll have a week or so fitness followed by a month (most sides) of contact training to get to their start.
We'd be at least a month behind plus they don't have play-offs to fit in. Players need 5 weeks to get ready same as any other season - if not more in this situation of compressed fixtures
Plus the spanner in the works for PL is one - the FA cup and 2-when UEFA throw a spanner in the works about completing their competitions

It's been mentioned they'll have individual programs to do at home but that's not the same as team training.

If we are back to full training on the 8th they’ll soon be up to speed. I’m not saying or suggesting we play on much prefer just being promoted the easy way, but going on the PL teams they haven’t done 5 weeks training as has been suggested we need. I think our lot have done a lot of fitness training for a while now, just need to shake the rough of a bit now.

The vote is on the 8th, assuming the league voted to play on all players and staff would need to be tested before returning to training, this would take a few days, let's say 4 days which gets us to the 12th, we haven't played since March so would need several weeks training minimum, lets say a month as that is what Robins stated a few weeks back but you think 5 days would suffice, it would realistically take until near the end of August to play out the season, that is before you address the very different financial positions of the PL and league one, don't see it happening I'm afraid.

but they are basically on a normal "closed" season fitness program.
Needs gearing up same as normal pre-season which is around 5 weeks.
Players normally get around 6 weeks off, they've been "off" far longer than that now.
Bundesliga already saying muscle injuries up 250% after 3 games back due to "unusual" preparation and fixture congestion.

Sounds like they're just going through the motions so there will be no legal issues later. They've considered proposals from other clubs but are going ahead with the originally proposed options.

The bit they've missed out of their statement is that while the articles do allow the clubs to propose things the EFL board can ignore them.

clubs normally return July 1st for preseason.
I think the point for the financially struggling clubs is that they would have the opportunity to budget for next season if this season was curtailed (with the assumptions about BCD/reduced attendances etc. ).
