Doesn’t it benefit the smaller clubs to keep the “bigger” names in league one? Sunderland and Ipswich will bring significant numbers. They could be pressured by the bigger clubs in League 1. Remember there are a few who will vote with the majority. If they see that the championship are playing, they may well think that we should too.

Ultimately the imbalance of tv money means teams are already releasing their retained lists. I’d bet my house that those teams are going to vote to end the season
even if the timeline was possible which i dont think it is , the added regs like 5 subs mean lge 1 clubs would need 20-25 man playing squads allowing for certain number of injuries ,not viable for most clubs
YesDumb question here but it is the EFL who preside over the Championship? And therefore it’s them who will ultimately give the options for League 1 - a spike in infection will stop the lot for sure the ppg
Just don't see out of contract players extending if training is as little as 2 weeks. There's 2 weeks from the vote for (1), and 3 weeks for (2). No doubt teams will argue that they need more than 2 weeks training, but "it is what it is" - same for everyone.
Personally I think season is done myself. 7 more days to wait peeps!
10 teams in the Prem don’t want relegations if the season can’t be finished.....this is going to drag for weeks and weeks yet
getting silly.10 teams in the Prem don’t want relegations if the season can’t be finished.....this is going to drag for weeks and weeks yet

Get to 36 games, bottom 3 adrift and there's a spike - relegation cancelled??
All this hype about all the games on TV etc. Who wants to watch Bournemouth-Norwich or Brighton-Watford if there's nothing riding on it?
All the talk of football solidarity in a time of crisis shown for the BS it is. It's all about self-interest at the top and bottom of all the Divisions.
Deffo is silly mate it’s pathetic, if there are no relegations from the prem then I can’t see how they will promote teams from the EFLgetting silly.

charlton manager says 3 players including leading scorer lyle taylor have refused to play for club as they dont want to get injured as they are all out of contract.
That is ridiculous.charlton manager says 3 players including leading scorer lyle taylor have refused to play for club as they dont want to get injured as they are all out of contract.
but most of those players were available for the next game as they were down to fatigueJust don't see out of contract players extending if training is as little as 2 weeks.
5 weeks training in Germany has led to a 250% increase in injuries. Players just can't afford the risk of being injured and out of contract when the new season starts.
Championship clubs already claiming about June 20th being way too early for their players and they would have been back just under a month with that restart date.
And they wont want a relegation on their CVcharlton manager says 3 players including leading scorer lyle taylor have refused to play for club as they dont want to get injured as they are all out of contract.
so fatigue suggests the "preseason" wasn't long enough.but most of those players were available for the next game as they were down to fatigue
Going to get to the end of the season and some sides that miss out on play-offs or get relegated going to be bleating "it wasn't fair as some games had weakened sides." etc. No incentive/point in mid-table clubs in any Division overworking their players now if they've already got one eye on beginning of next seasonBut in Charltons’ case what is the point of playing the players who don’t want to play due to their contract situation hardly going to break a sweat are they, atleast they are being honest.
Probably using it as leverage to getting new contracts?Just release them then, players need to realise that the big wages for average are at an end as there will be hundreds if not thousands not getting new clubs this summer.
Don't pay em then from now til end of July.charlton manager says 3 players including leading scorer lyle taylor have refused to play for club as they dont want to get injured as they are all out of contract.
I wonder if the 5 subs thing will become a permanent fixture in the game. Hope not, but I can see some arguments that it helps the players remain fresh and reduces injuries.
Agree. Bloody good player, though. Bit like Toney.Lyle Taylor is a well known knobhead anyway.
Tbh I think that will be the position of all out of contract players who have a move lined upcharlton manager says 3 players including leading scorer lyle taylor have refused to play for club as they dont want to get injured as they are all out of contract.
all relevant players technically under contract until June 30th?Don't pay em then from now til end of July.
Sorrry June yes think you are right. Either way they refuse to play because they are worried they will get injured for their next clubs, no pay thenall relevant players technically under contract until June 30th?
I don't imagine they are too concerned missing out on one pay cheque when the sign on fee alone for their new club could well be about 20x more.Sorrry June yes think you are right. Either way they refuse to play because they are worried they will get injured for their next clubs, no pay then
Not surprisingcharlton manager says 3 players including leading scorer lyle taylor have refused to play for club as they dont want to get injured as they are all out of contract.
