Transfer Rumour Ellis Simms (15 Viewers)

Think Robins made a bit of an error when he made his public comments about Simms needing to work harder, think it was after one of the pre-season friendlies. Will have already swayed opinion amongst some fans.
Nail on head.

Once city fans believe someone is lazy they will never change their minds and let it influence their opinion of a player week in week out. Doesn't matter if they chase every ball down and pressure the back line, "nope they don't work hard enough."

It’s annoying how utterly clueless portions of our fan base are
The moment he scores they will either immediately flip their opinion or double down and try to downplay it. Really it’s Robins that must be a clueless fool to have gone in for Simms and Wright-didn’t he know that Tom Cannon was available for a £1 million loan?

Is this the same Tom Cannon that can’t get a game for Everton, who have zero fit strikers and haven’t scored a goal all season?

Its the Andy Morrell syndrome. Work hard but limited is always better with some of our fans than lazy and scores goals

Arrrrrr I see, we can't possibly make our own mind up about a players performance then.

So I guess he hasn't been poor up to now at all then?

Or maybe, just maybe, Robins knows a thing ot two about football, and wants more from Simms.

Quite a lot of people seem very keen for him fail already. It’s really embarrassing.
We've paid decent money and I think it's frustration with most people, rather than wishing him ill. To be fair to him, he hasn't had that much service ... but in these cases we're used to Vic and Vic's effort. He'd cover a lot of the pitch looking for the ball and would always try and run and make space for himself or gaps for others. Simms will have little bursts but, for example, doesn't seem to make as much effort as say Godden. Maybe that's not his job, I don't know, I just pay my money and hope they know what they're doing.

Again, we don’t know what Robins has instructed him to do.

And the reason for dropping Godden at the moment is ?

Did he touch the ball in the second half? he was back to how he was last year.

They have tried Simms and Godden and Wright and Godden and neither looks like it works so try the one left Simms and Wright.

So what your actually saying is, we've tried a thoroughbred with a donkey, and we've tried a thoroughbred with a cart horse so let's try the cart horse and the donkey together!

Fucking brilliant mate!
And the week after we'll try Simms in goal.

Godden is no thoroughbred and never was he is a decent finisher when it’s on a plate but his general game is poor.

I think ultimately the investment means we needs Simms and Wright to be better than Godden and for the prices they cost you'd be very disappointed if they didn't end up being so. We will have to try them together at some point.

The barrage his been getting on social media, here and in the stands yesterday was embarrassing, he’s been on the pitch less than 3 matches for us, give the lad a chance Ffs.

I really hope he stays off social media, it won't do him any favours. Our fans are utter bellends at times.

I have watched four games, two live, two on telly, as the season moves on in my opinion we will settle and become a very strong capable team home & away and that will include Simms in a big way. Fans just need to be patient but there are fans who just want to be critical of someone, anyone at the moment Simms fits that bill.

Simms is not fit to lace Goddens boots, he’s done nothing in the game yet. Thank god we have Godden still other wise we wouldn’t have any points at all.
Not that it’s relevant to the here and now but “nothing in the game” - he’s played and scored in the Premier League which is more than what Godden has done

You've got to be an absolute cretin to come out with a statement like that.

Indeed. Great idea to have a go at a 22 year old who’s looking to settle down at a new club.

Out of all the chances yesterday , Haji should have finished it and buried it in the far corner. He didn’t. He’s our record signing. (I’m not saying have a go at him, but our bone idle fan base at times wants to look for an instant bad guy).
