What a stupid thing to say- who cares where he came from? There are hundreds of examples of players who came from a lot lower than L1 and did well, and there are hundreds of examples of players who started slow then did well. We should know, we’ve had a fair few of them, in both categories.

We sadly have a few with really poor first touches. BTA, Simms and EMC all seem to find close control difficult. At this level it results in possession being turned over.

Far too early to objectively judge. Go back to the this time last year and read what people were saying about Wright (and Simms) and the quality v money spent

While we haven’t had a change of players, we’ve completely overhauled our coaching staff. I’m hoping it’s just this adjustment.

I mean, Simms and Wright have both regressed back to where they were at the start of last season anyway.

If only we had a large number of coaches who could deal with this. Along with the set-pieces, throw-ins, goal kicks and shooting.
