If thats the case why don't the EFL or the FA do it and let the clubs use it for a fee at least all the money would be going back into football and not the pockets of these B-------s.If it was financially viable to set up your own independent operation I'm sure clubs would be doing it, (we're not the only ones who use them).
I share your hate of these companies but unfortunately I think we're stuck with them.
You always say that. It’s not trying anything it’s my actual opinion and even if I was on the wind up… it took 10 seconds to type

Again, probably not viable financially which is why they handle so many major events. There has to be a valid reason why so many venues and organisations hand over their ticketing to them.
It's certainly not for thexquality of the service they provide!
Is this honestly the consultation for the safe standing? Is there no survey asking specific questions like do you support its introduction, if you are a season ticket holder in an affected seat will you renew there? Is there no information on which to respond like what the standing will look like, wil ST be cheaper than at present, what plans do the cluB have to support existing season ticket holders who need or want to move etc. The above can’t be it surely? You need a few questions you can quantify the results from - like of 700 affected ST ticket holders, 300 responded and 65% of them supported the switch to safe standing. I’ve organised consultations in my job and I would be out of it if that was all I did. and the period of ’shortly’ has long passed since July. I’m in an affected seat and haven’t been contacted to gather my views. From July 2023

Subject: Safe Standing
As promised last night
Coventry City are undertaking supporter consultation over the coming months regarding safe standing at the Coventry Building Society Arena, with the plan to implement safe standing solutions in time for the 2024/25 campaign.
Chief Executive Dave Boddy has undertaken work and site visits in conjunction with the Arena over the past few months, hosting a number of potential providers of a safe standing solution. This work will continue, with fan consultations to begin at the start of the season. This work has also included meetings with Coventry City Council and the Sports Ground Safety Authority.
The Club has currently identified Blocks 13, 14, 15 and 16 from Row U upwards for the safe standing solution to be installed, as a result of safety concerns identified by authorities over a period of time in these areas, however this may change following the consultation.
The Club, Coventry City Council and the Sports Ground Safety Authority spoke at July’s Supporter Forum to supporters group representatives, and we now welcome feedback from these groups regarding the plans.
Supporter Groups are asked to email safestanding@ccfc.co.uk with any views they have on safe standing at the Arena, or any queries they would want the Club to address.
Shortly, Coventry City will be contacting all supporters directly affected by the proposals to gather their views too.

it does say they will in time reach out to the people in the area they have in mind and they have also said they are just working through a few things before thenIs this honestly the consultation for the safe standing? So many clubs have safe standing now. Watching Brentford last night and noticed an entire stand with it.
We are dragging our heels.
I was at the other end but a mate in block 14 told me there were bits of confrontation from fans one being a fat fifty odd year old knuckle dragger from the Sheffield side, cops useless nowadays years back he’d be outed and in a van.
Some of our lot are as bad
then belly ache about the closed blocks
It’s these pathetic incidents which affects decisions on attendance and blocks being closed which ultimately costs the club income at 2000 a match

There’s an empty block on right hand sided opposite me, that one little incident which it probably was can influence decisions, don’t know if anything happened to the idiot obviously identifiable two or three old bill dragging him out probably would have defused any potential issue, same with any of our lot who spend half the came looking at the away end. Those areas are not closed currently, and it was a complete non incident you refer to, just one Wednesday idiot. Shouldn't change the fact that they are now happy for there to be no closed blocks between home and away fans if demand is there.
The biggest issue I see is not where they plan to introduce safe standing, it's a no brainer, and is really about ticking the safety certificate box, it won't change anything for those in the areas suggested. It's more about the areas not included, those at the bottom of the blocks who currently stand, and those at the back of blocks 17 and 18 who stand also.

Some mesh netting from floor to ceiling would solve many of the issues that raise concerns. Could blocks 25/26 be used as a standing area? The focus on 14/15 may be erroneous? This would ease any tension in the area around 13/14/15 and therefore open up a few more seats on matchdays. It would be pretty obvious to most away fans that those sitting near them simply want to watch a game of football.I was at the other end but a mate in block 14 told me there were bits of confrontation from fans one being a fat fifty odd year old knuckle dragger from the Sheffield side, cops useless nowadays years back he’d be outed and in a van.

Once you miss a home game, your points should revert back to
Why ? My son (14 and really getting into the Sky Blues now) and I have STs in the family stand. We travel 300 miles round trip from Essex for a home game and can’t make midweeks for obvious reasons. We’ve paid our money, the club now has another fan from the next generation - why should we be penalised ? Genuine questionOnce you miss a home game, your points should revert back to 0 in my opinion
It was introduced in the north stand obviously not to the ceiling, first time noticed, just a temporary portable measure to prevent ball hitting the crowds or whatever. Some mesh netting from floor to ceiling would solve many of the issues that raise concerns. Some, but when you look at Premiership games the gap between fans that sit aside is not large at allDoes this not happen at every single ground?
My season ticket, which I’ve had since the move to the Ricoh, is in the affected area and whilst I completely support the introduction of safe standing in the ground, I do not stand all game and want to have a seat available to me. Hence me being interested in how the club plan to manage the transition to safe standing for season ticket holders in that area. Will we, for example, have a period in which we can choose to move our seats to ones in say block 17 that are not currently held by season ticket holders? Maybe it doesn’t need a consultation but the club does need to reach out to those affected and there is quite a long gap between saying ‘shortly’ in July and the end of December. They could for example have got in touch and encouraged us to try seats in 17 that would be available next season to for the FA Cup game. They are proposing that it is introduced in areas of the ground where everyone already stands all game. I'm not sure of the grounds on which anyone would object. Not even sure a consultation is needed.

Ticketmaster is part of the same company as Livenation who own or operate venues and are the booking agent for the artist. Their biggest competitor is AXS which is part of AEG who also own or operate venues and are the booking agent for the artist.Again, probably not viable financially which is why they handle so many major events. I think a lot of people have forgotten how often the system pre-ticketmaster used to completely collapse. Its obv possible but does the cost of developing an in house system bring any return for the club? We’re talking a max load of 30k people at once really. It’s honestly not some great engineering challenge.

The most obvious options to change to are AXS or, for a more local option, Ticket Factory (part of the NEC group). Both platforms have their own issues. I think in both cases you'd see ticket purchasing fees increase significantly.
Pretty sure the old system was just running off a PC sat in the ticket officeYou'd hope that wasn't the case if they decided to have a new system
same, they have our emails so they will likely email us a list of questions at some stageI’m expecting specific stuff with season ticket holders there
yeah as said there will still be a seat for you to sit on, they just add rails to allow people to stand and lean on themMy season ticket, which I’ve had since the move to the Ricoh, is in the affected area and whilst I completely support the introduction of safe standing in the ground, I do not stand all game and want to have a seat available to me. Your right. The barrier will not obscure view whilst sitting down .From my experience, it won't really change anything. The only difference will be a bar we can lean on, and you can easily see over this while seated, especially with the steep incline at the CBS. Don't imagine there will be many who move, but yes, they need to have a plan for those that do. I guess that would just be a grace period following the end of the period where STs are reserved. They did this last summer iirc.
