As said on here, our commercial team set up is a joke. it's League 2 at best.

I mentioned before I visited Celtic a few year ago on a random Sunday with my mate who showed me around the outside of the ground and the store etc. Absolutely huge store, they were treating Celtic FC like a global franchise/brand, it was very inspiring (we were league 2 at the time) but made me think, once we get to the Championship this is what we need to aim for.

Now we are here and just look at the mess. I'm not a boddy hater but our inability to see what is happening in front of us and reacting to it is really amateur. We look like we are non league AFC Coventry not play off chasing Championship Coventry.
Eerling Haaland instagrammed himself wearing our shirt and it went global on twitter, we are now a big club again and are we using the social media tools/market? Are we fuck.

Spot on. Especially about social media. For example on Twitter we have a following the size of a L2 club with around 150K. Teams like Bolton 250K, Wigan 327K, Reading 364K. This was talked about last year on another thread but its pathetic for a club and city our size.

This would be an area you'd assume Ashley and his business could easily replace elite?
And I don't mean with tat but Hummel product.

You would hope, given the comments, that they'd try to find someone who would do a bespoke kit. Whether we have one next year with the short notice is a different matter.

Unfortunately, they'll go for whoever offers the best deal.

They may sell thousands of Hummel but I still don't think the return would be as good as a cheap template which is easier to make.

for years I have been banging on about wanting a purple away kit. I dint buy it straight away as asked for it for Christmas. (luckily partner dint order it)

Now the supplier has gone out of business. I swear the club is cursed !

The number of twitter followers for those clubs is skewed a bit as they have played in the PL during the lifetime of twitter. Get promoted to the PL and you gain 250K followers overnight and you hold on to a lot of them for years after. It's the reason why Sheffield United have far more followers than Sheffield Wednesday for example.

Tbf, our twitter output is decent anyway. I think we're being unduly harsh re the digital output which is OK imo.

Bang on. Stoke have a million and crowds are the same as ours. Twitter numbers mean nothing.

Dont think social media is useful beyond keeping your super fans engaged and communicating with fans.

Merchandise sales would be best done to customer lists they have through normal marketing channels. Unless they get something breakout like an amazing kit.

Local real life marketing like billboards, radio ads and people at events/in town would be better for actually getting lapsed fans to go.

New fans I suspect will only go from word of mouth or performances on the pitch.

See what you are saying but we are miles away from Celtic commercially, they probably have a bigger market in the Coventry area than ccfc do.

Just watching the Sheffield United vs Wrexham FA cup replay and thinking that Wrexham's 3rd shirt is smart and simple, we could do worse than Macron. Really hope if we do lose Hummel, I hope we get another smaller brand like Macron, better quality than off the peg Nike/Adidas junk.

There's a fashion at the moment for club shirts with elaborate patterns related to the city or area they represent. Not sure what to think. Monetising local loyalties no doubt, but there are some decent shirts coming out of it.

See our third 'cathedral window' shirt. It's growing on me. Southampton's away shirt with the 'ocean waves' pattern is one of the worst I've ever seen however.
