I see that having the freedom to choose who you advertise with is now anti freedom of speech. Much better that we dictate who companies are allowed to advertise with, that would be freedom of speech in action. No, wait…
Started playing a favourite Spotify playlist? And how did you get him to do that?

You should tell JHB. I was referencing what she’s posted on Facebook. Not really the case is is it? A campaign was launched by the woke brigade, a couple of large companies said oh-er missus, halted the advertising but then restarted because it was a knee jerk action. It;s a bit like the righties complaining about the beeb. Left or right, all those trying to deplatform can just feck off.

Don't really see this as deplatforming. Using consumer power to affect the strategies of large corporations isn't the same as preventing someone from speaking because you don't like what they say.
What uproar? And what corruption?
Not really consumer power is it? It's not. let's stop buying this product. It is indeed a bunch of infantile lefties tweeting their hate (and indeed their tweets and those from the individuals who try to hide behind SFH are pretty vile and infantile).

You are woke lefties forcing a company to stop advertising, I am a rational man of the people expressing my annoyance that this brand is not expressing the values of the people.
Do we really need to bring Gillette or Disney or the million other companies subjected to right wing outrage up?
The main problem here seems to be left wing values are better marketing than right wing so the right are easily ignored.
Yes the left expressing anger at IKEA for not representing their political views by advertising on a minority news channel - very moral and very earnest.
I’m surprised these left wing moralists still see fit to buy dodgy flat packs a company that has stores in Saudi Arabia and was prepared to removal all female images in its marketing over there

You do have a habit of projecting anger and outrage onto any view that you disagree with. I'm not angered or outraged! But it is a poor habit, and it can be a bit wearing.
Deplatforming is the outcome of a petition, as is a twitter campaign. It aint consumer power.

Deplatforming is denying a platform, that hasn't happened here.

Well you said left wing values. Pretty strange value to not criticise a company for its marketing in an unpleasant regime and to start a campaign against a random advert on a minority news programme

Where have I said you were outraged or angered? You sure you’ve read my post correctly?
There were people trying to organise a boycott of Greggs when they brought out Vegan sausage rolls. Snowflakes everywhere. Not really. In the same way that some people said they would stop using Argos when their advert featured a black family. Whatever that was it wasn't no platforming.
Argos were free to carry on or to change their advertising campaign based on those complaints, same as companies advertising on GB news.
When companies said they were withdrawing from GB news there were people who said they'd would boycott them because of it, again, consumer choice, they weren't forcibly being stopped from advertising wherever they chose to.
It must be his age. You’ve quoted yourself
You're perhaps not aware that you tend to do this projection either directly or passively towards the person or the view expressed or position held.
From just today, an example of doing this directly would be projection of 'upset' onto a poster in another thread this morning,
An example of doing it passively is here:
"You are woke lefties forcing a company to stop advertising, I am a rational man of the people expressing my annoyance that this brand is not expressing the values of the people.
Do we really need to bring Gillette or Disney or the million other companies subjected to right wing outrage up"
The left are rational, calm folk. The right tend towards outrage.
But you are not alone here in this. It seems to be a style of discussion employed by a couple of others, though admittedly your style is more subtle.
What have they spent the £60m on? The whole setup is sub bedroom youtuber. Saw one of their reporters on twitter talking about how they're being sent out solo with no tech crew so have to do their own cameras & sound. No wonder things keep going wrong.

You mean like when you accused me of being antagonistic when I was joking about your RT fandom back on page 2?
