I was a bit puzzled to find that when I looked up Nathan Lyons on Wikipedia, I found that he was in fact NOT related to Lee Burge.
How odd.
What if Stokes doesn't fancy Jack Leach though?Leach went up to him at the end and said "you know what this means dont you ?"
"What" ?asked Stokes
"you're going to get lots of sex now"
Outrageous innings by Ben Stokes. We've witnessed something truly special in the past few weeks from him. I'll need to watch the highlights later to doubly make sure we've won that because I cannot believe it.

To be honest if the captain even mentioned it I’m sure he’d remind him if he hadn’t sanctioned a ridiculous review in the previous over it would not have mattered
M
It was madness and the kind of madness that can cost you
Nope will just roll over and let the Aussies have another 2 freebies. Then head back there and surrender a whitewash in the sun
What so just make their task even easier? Muppet
ime to lose by the same margin of that abject surrender
Typical negative lefty.
Let's be honest not even Stokes actually thought we'd make it from Broad's dismissal. Of course you did though...
I couldn't understand that at all, to use that last review for such an obvious not out decision. To be honest if the captain even mentioned it I’m sure he’d remind him if he hadn’t sanctioned a ridiculous review in the previous over it would not have mattered
Likewise Root should have have had Leech out at the crease at 10 - it’s well known that the ego that is Broad has huge objection to being last man but these days he makes Glenn Mcgath look like Virat Kholi - leech has some endurance in the same way that archer can thump the odd ball.
Root is a lucky man and there are some big choices ahead. He’s going to have to open and Denly at 3 with Roy down at probably 4 or even 5
If Anderson is fit I don’t know if he risks a very long tail but woakes looks a weak link and suddenly his batting is gone. I assumed Curran is injured if not he could come in at 8.
Because they never imagined there would be any need for another review.I couldn't understand that at all, to use that last review for such an obvious not out decision.
But you have to don't you. Why would they think there wouldn't be another review opportunity. This one wasn't even close.Because they never imagined there would be any need for another review.

Amazing game of cricket. From adject to sublime. One of the best innings ever seen. Even the drama that we should've lost by a run by umpire got it wrong. Aus took some wonderful catches and then let it slip with fielding errors. Had absolutely everything.
Grendel - today was a day for Stokes to try one-day (it was almost T20 at times) tactics once we were down to the tailenders as they were going to get out eventually facing too many balls, so he had to maintain the strike. But the fact he spent so long yesterday playing himself in (and at times maybe being too cautious) gave him the groundwork to do it. Well done to the big man - SPOTY almost nailed on now I think.
Do you think root needs to drop to number 4 and would you sanction Bairstow for 1 - 10 over spell of accelerating the run rate to 7 an over?
If we had fell by 8 runs the archer over against Lyon would have been pivotal in winning the game
We can go with the what ifs all week. What if we hadn't rolled over in the first innings? What if Steve Smith had been fit? What if Stokes hadn't been dropped twice? What if the umpire had given Stokes plumb LBW?
Exactly

Bayliss even said when interviewed that he thought Roy should play in the middle order. Not sure why they persist. Would Bairstow opening really be any worse?
What if Labuschagne hadn’t had about ten lives on Friday night and Saturday morning (from memory dropped at least four times and stokes also would’ve had him out but it was a no ball)
One of those and/or one decent partnership in the first innings would’ve seen us over the line a lot easier.
The joys of test cricket !
Yup, but there's one thing we can be sure of and that's nobody seriously gave England a chance after Broad went, if not earlier.
They all need a look. Stokes was about 2 runs from 50 balls. Test cricket still about building an innings. He played very sensibly, I hope a few others above him in the order took note.
