Must be around 10,000 fans at the madejski stadium Reading tonight for an England u21 qualification game we had a sell out crowd of 32,000 at the Ricoh just shows what could possibly happen if we got into the premiership - note mr Haskel or Byng big club, football area, easy access hungry for success puts it in context how ludicrous our situation currently is

5000 there. Woeful.

I was thinking... Couldn't England just play all their home u21s fixtures there?

remember when we were in the premier league at Highfield Road and got about 13k-15k for a lot of matches

Hoping there's a big crowd at Wembley tomorrow for England match: family enclosure tickets £10 kids and £20 adults...that's good vfm!

Very arrogant attitude back then that we had a God given right to be there and were always underachieving.

the amount of times we diced with relegation it was a long time coming but sadly coincided with a year we actually had a decent team!! oh the irony!

At the last U21 game there was 5000 Scotland fans there. It was a school night and against Moldova so it was always going to struggle to sell. Btw we'll be in the Liquor Station opposite Wembley Central from around 6 later. Normally loads of City fans in there.

Early years of the PL maybe, towards the end it was much better.

1999/00 season:

Liverpool 23,084
Tottenham Hotspur 23,073
Newcastle United 23,031
Arsenal 22,757
Sunderland 22,099
Manchester United 22,022
Leicester City 22,016
Watford 21,697
Leeds United 21,528
Aston Villa 20,174
Chelsea 20,152
West Ham United 19,985
Sheffield Wednesday 19,921
Southampton 19,602
Middlesbrough 19,430
Bradford City 19,194
Wimbledon 19,005
Everton 18,513
Derby County 17,658

Ground over 80% full for all but 2 games, 80% of the Ricoh would be 26k

Just because the Ricoh holds more doesn't mean more would turn up...the attendance could be equal to what it was back then...so only approx 65% full.
Sadly we may never know.

That is true, but it is likely that the big games that sold out at hr would also sell out at the Ricoh.

Man utd
Liverpool
Chelsea
Arsenal
Man city
Newcastle
Villa

& possibly more would all sell out, boosting the overall average crowd.

Not really just seems that when some moan on here you bend over backwards for them?
Funny how they are all in the same camp.

This was left here as it was comparing to the ricoh...

Have you got nothing better to do?

No Nick only seems to intervene when people start attacking posters en mass when they don't agree with the popular opinion, or when they try and give a balanced view.

Give Nick a break, as without him there would be no site, and its something he does for the fans in his own time, something some posters seem to forget (I am not suggesting you are one of these)

Like everything else on this site there are 2 sides to everything and it is just my opinion.

I have got no problems with Nick I'm sure he's a nice boy:p.

Maybe I was bullied as a kid
