Italy have gone through a transition period but i'd say they have as much chance as England as winning the Euros.Not that I disagree with you point. Based on the last few tournaments and competitive games I’d put us behind France, Portugal, Holland and Belgium. It might also be that 3 of them are in the same group, so one is likely going out.
Germany aren’t what they were and Italy are rarely backed by the bookies these days.
I wouldn’t say miles away but there are better teams on paper. I’d consider us dark horses though purely because our whole campaign is near enough all in EnglandPeople seemingly happy with a limp and toothless performance against the mighty Albania.
We are miles away from winning the Euros, defence and midfield nowhere near the level needed.

The Republic is in a really dire place right now footballing wiseI don't understand why Stephen Kenny is getting so much stick. A 3-2 loss to Serbia, 0-1 loss to Luxembourg and 1-1 draw with Qatar are better results than the level of that side. He's got them punching if anything.

Outside of Ronaldo who is a class above every other player bar one, Portugal are bang average. as CJ said, they won 1 game in Euro 2016.Greece when they won the Euros offered virtually nothing going forward......They scored 7 goals in 6 games & won the tournament....
I remember their progress well as I'd drawn them in the pub raffle.....was gutted at the time.....and then, slowly but surely watched them park the bus & win 1-0 on 5 occasions.

Who is the world's best centre half ?They’re far better now and I’ll probably be putting a few quid on them to win it. Best centre half in the world with Bruno and Bernardo in front of him in midfield.
That side is pretty shit to be honest. The centrehalves combined age was over 70. The RB was a LB playing out of position. Joao Mario shite, William Carvalho shite, and Nani playing upfront whilst being over the hill. Lets be honest the difference between Carvalho and Maldini is night and dayYea but for example maldini played until he was 180 alone and I would have still have had him over what we had in 2002
