Our song was horseshit.
This.Our song was horseshit.
I can’t say because I don’t watch it, but we’re not the shittest year on year on year.
We take it too seriously. We should either go all out ludicrous, or pick a proper singer or band yo do proper pop (like wot we're actually good at) and stop trying to impersonate mediocre Eurovision failures from 30 years ago.I think we hit top ten a few years back with Blue, but the songs that do well tend to be proper pop songs that top the charts across the continent a lot of the time whereas we sent a guy who won that BBC show nobody watches to sing a song nobody wanted. There's an obvious voting thing with neighbours giving each other points, but it's kitschy nonsense that we take about as seriously as we should which is the main appeal for me.
It never ceases to amaze me how some can turn Eurovision into a paranoid rant about immigrants.
What do you mean?

Look earlier in the thread.
I'd get Olly Murs on it. Either his popularity and credentials are a success for us or we get to see Olly Murs trying to smile through gritted teeth at a 23rd place finish. Win-win!
I think it has gone on for much longer than that m8.Just skimmed back, and I think he's got a point to be fair.
The UK is one of the most flocked to countries in Europe, if not the most. Yet the sentiment towards us is very negative.
I get that a lot of brits bring it on themselves by being ignorant towards other countries, being shit at languages etc, but Eurovision demonstrates for me that negative sentiment that we get.
No way we deserved to be bottom last night, and Brexit doesn't really come into it either. This has been going on since well before 2016.
What & kill their budding careers off???I was thinking they should make the winner of X factor or whatever it’s called do it
Didn't Bucks fizz win it ???What & kill their budding careers off???
I think UK-wise Brotherhood Of Man were the last entrants that went on to be successful. We tried one or two that were already famous, tried rocky, raunchy & sentimental stuff...none of it works. We might as well pull-out as the europeans do weird eccentricity far better than us at that level.
And how long have Israel, Russia & Australia been part of the continent of Europe?
