Nightmare in our house with the Mrs being a toffee. She was pretty bitter before but the red shite are being blamed for everything that’s gone wrong there. Sammy Lee and The Spanish waiter are names simply not mentioned in our house. Personally I would love them to stay up… a great historical clubI'm the forums resident Everton fan.
If relegated Everton are screwed, Good players like Richerlson, Calvert-Lewin, Dacoure, Allan, Pickford will all go for a fraction of their value. Everton are in deep financial trouble and cant afford the loss in revenue from relegation.
At best Everton wont get points dedicated for breaking league rules, but wont have anything to invest in the team.
At worst looking at administration.
The players we will be left with are on high wages and possibly not even good enough for championship, likes of Holgate, Keane, Gbamin, a 35 year old Coleman, Rondon will struggle at championship level.
where do things stand with their new stadium. are they already at a point of no return. Just thinking if they go down and don't bounce straight back up funding a new stadium could become a major issue

There are few closet Liverpool fans on here so would make sense.I’ve been thinking for a while the “Everton fan” may be another of Boosh’s
Everton at the Ricoh would be a huge crowd.
Looking at the link better days posted not sure its that simple. contracts have been signed and work has is taking place. At the very least you'd expect some hefty penalties if they pulled the plug. The building of a new stadium would stop
It's as much they've been shockingly managed for the past few years too (I mean at board level). A club that's like that could really struggle to get it right, no matter how much cash they have to throw around on players.Looking at the link better days posted not sure its that simple. contracts have been signed and work has is taking place. They would desperately need to get promotion at the first attempt or they could be in serious trouble but how many players would stick around? A rebuild with potential FFP issues would not be easy.

Everton would be absolutely f*cked if they were relegated. Their current losses put them in real potential trouble with FFP and should they get relegated, I could see another potential Leeds x 100. The building of a new stadium would stop and the players they have, though there is a massive gap in quality compared to players in this league. They don't have the 'fight' over a full season in the Championship.
They've lost their 'real' backer in Usmanov due to the sanctions.
I do have a soft spot for Everton and have seen this coming for a couple of seasons. I have them at 20/1 to get relegated.
Definitely a sell out.
Think they would. Although the ‘big’ players might go, the combined amount of money received plus the £50 million reward for being relegated would be plenty for a manager to go back up comfortably.
Would they though?
They've spent an inordinate amount of money over the years but people are focusing too heavily on their last set of accounts and not actually realising that the level of cost cutting being carried out at the club currently.
They've rid themselves of Walcott, Rodriguez, Bernard and Bolasie, sold Digne in January and in the summer will offload Tosun, Delph and Sigurdsson upon the expiry of their contracts. Van De Beek and El Ghazi will also return to their parent clubs.
If they were to go down, Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin, Kean and Pickford will be sold which could potentially generate anything between £120m-150m in fees, depending if you believe the reported asking prices being quoted. They'd equally save significant costs on their wages
Those with one year left on their contracts would either be loaned out, nominal fees received or agreements be made.
The Alli deal is an issue but there are ways and means around that.
Granted if they remained in the Championship for longer than a couple of seasons serious issues would inevitably arise for the obvious reasons but in the short term they'd probably be OK.
Don't forget they'd receive £45m in parachute payments as well.
The stadium situation would be precarious but there's already been indications about what they could do if they were to be relegated.
That is a fair point, the current batch of overpaid, underperforming players, their contracts are coming to an end. That's what has got them into this position but they look to be coming out the other side now.
Kean has already been sold (has a clause in his contract that he will be after his loan).
They still have the question of Iwobi, Gomes, Alli, Mina, Keane which is around 500k pw. Who are all contracted til at least 2023 and will have few suiters willing to pay even 50% of their current wages.
The guy is never fit anyway, god knows why Everton invested in him.In the players you would want to sign in a relegation battle stakes, Dele Alli would be right at the bottom
Kean hasn't been sold as the loan condition was an option to buy and I don't believe Juve are taking it up.
The other high earners under contract are of course an issue, but their wages should in theory be largely covered by the influx of cash Everton would receive from player sales and parachute payments, at least in the short term anyway.
Or at the very least be mitigated somewhat by them being sent out on loan - or through agreements being reached if their contract only has a year remaining.

No chance of him playing 15-20 games then so yes a good investment reallyIt's an obligation to buy after a 2 year loan, not an option.
Of all the business they've done. I don't think Alli was a terrible decision as he was on a free.... until he plays 20 games (or something). Then they're on the hook for 15-20 million.

Oh fair enough I reading something the other day and it was discussing Kean being sent back to Everton and where his next destination could be (PSG), but it must've been completely wrong.
I think Alli was a dreadful signing personally. He's the absolute last person you'd want in the trenches with you if things got tough.
On that last note where is Biamou these days?
I don't know taking a year out to spend time perfecting his latest selfie poses. Why?

If we go down I'd welcome Keane going to west ham. That's interesting
There's a story today that West Ham want to take Keane
Sorry I didn't realise I was writing a feature article for the athletic, thought it was a post on a Coventry city fan forum about Everton. You'd think an Evertonian may be able to spell the name of their star Brazilian International striker.
Stating Keane & Holgate are not championship standard is laughable.
Coleman is as blue as big Dunc so would happily take a pay cut & may well stay on in a coaching role.
Not seem Gbamin play (has anyone?). Poor blokes basically been crocked since signing 3 years ago. He makes Jody Jones look lucky.

I take it you don't watch Everton, so with regards to Holgate and Keane there certainly are concerns as to whether they would adjust and be up to standard in the championship.
Keane especially, as he's a confidence player and can shrivel up in games when things go against him.
He's also at his best when Everton play low block, he struggles when Everton try to push up and play higher up the pitch.
What is your take on the signing of Dele Alli? seems to be at a crossroads in his career, and looks like going the same way as Stephen Ireland and others.

Got more about that?Had a very difficult upbringing but with help from a team mate's kind family
Got more about that?
Thanks, even if it is the MailDele Alli credits success to loving family who took him in as a teen
Dele Alli was taken in by the Hickfords when his mother's problems with alcohol risked jeopardising his football career. On Saturday, he smiled with the family who helped turn him into a star.www.dailymail.co.uk
