Agree about Lampard but Villa are 6 points behind 9th with 2 games in handLampard is an awful manager.
Will get job after job on his name alone though.
Gerrard doing shite at villa too.

Liverpool has more than us as well. They were promoted in the early 60’sWasn’t it us, Everton and Arsenal who had the most consecutive seasons in the top flight when we went down?
Any idea of where the 34 years would put us now? I’d imagine we’d still be top 10?We were fourth longest continuous member of the first/premier division 34 years until being relegated in season 2001 behind Arsenal, Everton & Liverpool. Both Manchester United & Tottenham suffered relegation in the 70s.

That’s actually quite an amazing stat about Arsenal
Interesting how they originally made it into the top flight in 1919 though. They had finished 5th in Division 2 in the last season before the 1st world war, and it was thought that a lot of money was exchanged to ensure their place in the new top flight after the war. Tottenham were placed in Division 2 though, and much of their early rivalry emanated from that decision.
They were quick to turn on Dean Smith and it won't be long before they're calling for Gerrard out.But they're 15th, only 4 points ahead of Leeds who have had an awful season.
15th in the the last 10 form table and 18th in the last 6.
Villa fans on the whole are not impressed with Gerrard.
We should have relegated Everton in 98 when Bolton went downEverton should have been relegated when they beat Wimbledon 3-2 in a very dubious game.
Off topic but Oldham are the first team from the original premier league lineup to be relegated to non league, pretty toxic there as well at the moment.
I'm the forums resident Everton fan. Can’t really be arsed with them coming down, they’d just walk the league. Would much rather Burnley or Leeds.
Carlisle tooNotts County and Luton were in the top flight the season before the PL though. Always slightly pisses me off how top flight football doesn't seem to count before the PL

If relegated Everton are screwed, Good players like Richerlson, Calvert-Lewin, Dacoure, Allan, Pickford will all go for a fraction of their value. Everton are in deep financial trouble and cant afford the loss in revenue from relegation.
At best Everton wont get points dedicated for breaking league rules, but wont have anything to invest in the team.
At worst looking at administration.
The players we will be left with are on high wages and possibly not even good enough for championship, likes of Holgate, Keane, Gbamin, a 35 year old Coleman, Rondon will struggle at championship level.
Eh???

There's a story today that West Ham want to take Keane

Everton are in utter turmoil. can't blame Frank for that. It's a real possibility they will come down. Not sure that would be good for our own ambitions tbh.
Would agree normally but I think the fire sale that would take place and a fair bit of behind the scenes chaos would be difficult for them. Clubs with a loosing mentality find it hard to stop the slide than your perennial yo yo teams like Norwich. That's my only worry - although it would be funny - they'll occupy one of the top places, almost certainly.
