2024/25 League 1 Champs?

We just won 3-0 against Premier League opposition without him, in what was a really impressive performance all round. I really hope one day this year it is going to click for some. Just making shit up at this point.

did you watch the game? there were times they played through the midfield and a better final ball / sharper pass would have seen them in on goal…

it’s not a massive criticism, but it happened

We can't deal with the likes of Preston and Swansea who just bully opposition.

When we play a PL team its much more suited to our style.

I think we've started to address this with what the players are doing - a few have definitely bulked up - and who we've signed. Rudoni's over 6 ft, EMC looks massive. Have a feeling that won't be such a big issue this season.

Absolutely destroyed many of them with his pace and skill.
Ok fine I have to ask do you and sparks think I don't attend games ? The better question is are you 2 watching a different player .? Screenshot_20240730_231930_Chrome.jpg

This shows you that he quite literally doesn't take full backs on and destroy them

They did pass through us at times as you would expect a Premier League side to do . We aren't going to play a fast attacking brand of football without being susceptible to a counter but that will be the compromise we have to make if we are to be successful

Top 30% for progressive carries so he must be beating someone...

Bottom 30% for take ons ffs you can read.

Moving forward with the ball isn't taking a player on . Haji wright doesn't destroy full backs , he's best running onto the ball and in and around the box recieving the ball

Right but the initial point wasn't about take ons it was about giving a RB a tough time. You seem to ignore other elements to Wrights game that gave him advantage over full backs such as off the ball movement.

The stats clearly show haji wright is better getting onto the ball in and around the box .. what else is there to argue about ?

He's not at his strongest when players are infront of him to take on , the stats show this

The stats show he doesn't destroy anybody , he scores goals

I can't remember many right backs that haji wright terrorised ? he scored goals sure .. EMC is the sort of player that will have right backs subbed off because they've had enough .. a natural winger with pace power and skill .
It's two different types of threat really, EMC twisting and turning but Wright more direct, likely to shift the ball quickly and get a shot away. Great to have those subtly different options imo.

Deary me , are you OK lad ? You're going to show me a video where he's taking on a couple players , but I've shown you hard facts he's not that strong in that area , his game is best played as I've already stated.. you are now just arguing for the sake of it .

Not stated any different , haji wright doesn't destroy full backs on the regular as a couple of posters here are trying to state

Everton were v poor. Yes they are behind us in preparation for the new season but for a premier league outfit they were terrible both on and off the ball. I should think their fans are v concerned for the upcoming season.
For us it was an encouraging 90mins. The new keeper looked an improvement with ball at feet (but was not tested at all in terms of saves). EMC and Rudoni produced good work…the latter at times trying a little too hard…but both looked exciting and will produce chances and goals. Allen was unbelievable in terms of energy. Eccles composed first half but faded. The defence, apart from a few moments out of position, looked solid and composed. Great to see Tats back and working both when he was in possession and when he lost it. And Simms’ hold up play was exceptional. All in all a very promising performance.
