its a tragic situation and I feel so deeply about people showing the proper respect but i agree if that's what the family want then that is their prerogative
I shall not applaud though I will bow my head in utter respect and observe the minute in quiet contemplation and silence
RIP Keaton and those poor people in Southport

i agree with what you have said but can someone tell me what there is to applaud about a 12 year old boy getting mowed down by some twat in a stolen car before he's even had a chance at life or those poor kids killed in Southport
we should show proper respect and not take the cop out situation because of a small minority of idiots
we should do exactly what the family of said child want...whether thats an applause or a silence or nothing at all.

With all due respect - whatever you think or are getting wound up about is irrelevant

Wonder if Deli Ali will get a runout? Has he played in any of their other games?
He's either injured, coming back from an injury, or about to pick up another injury. Current state of play : coming back from an injury, so hasn't played any pre season matches, not that he would have made much of a difference.

This might be of interest later for another view of the match.

Are you likely to put out a strong 11?

It's more an applause in celebration of someone's life, some people prefer that and even have "happy" funerals so do we know what the family have asked for?

Yep at my niece’s funeral my aunt insisted everyone wore bright colours with me and my cousins etc. instructed to wear matching Disney ties carrying her coffin. No hyms, it was all songs from Greatest Showman belted out by her school choir.

(I was “uncle” to her but she was technically my cousin).

It was equally beautiful as it was heartbreakingly sad. Still can’t watch or listen to the soundtrack of that film four or five years on.

If the family have requested applause then we applaud.

Anyhow, got tickets about an hour ago on the half way line. Bumper crowd then 😂

Stood by the Fan Zone having a beer in the sun - lad passing by in an Everton shirt asks another Everton fan next to me whether he has “a spare ticket”. Didn’t realise we were such a draw!
