Im not having that. Eccles, Torp and Allen all very good. Yes, if sheaf gets injured I’d be concerned but I wouldn’t say we’re lacking
Not lacking but we need to push if we want to even think about challenging top 2 and it feels like the budget might be there for it. Another top quality CM puts us in a great place. Allen isn’t that good.

You're talking shit now

Our record signing and top scorer of last season will not be left on the bench as a No2 striker when fit

He's also shown he's shite playing the lone striker role. It's clear to everyone.

We will get a Godden replacement in 10000%
So we're not going to drop Wright all season long cause he cost a lot of money?

Do you think we need to sign a central midfielder and a Godden replacement then? Weird, you haven’t mentioned it 100 times.

Funny you should mention it because for me, I feel if we get a centre kid of quality in and a Godden replacement I think we'll be up there easily you?

Im normally pretty stoic whatever happens but if we fuck up this year because our squad is lacking depth I'll be fuming because we should be learning our lessons.
.and I think we're currently a couple short.

Im not say we don’t need some depth but Saddle was suggesting none of those lads had the quality to start alongside Rudoni and sheaf. I disagree.

Palmer especially is just class. No one can dispute that.

I know it's just a friendly but that was very impressive. Thought Allen was excellent. So composed. Everyone contributed. Palmer and Torp looked sharp coming on. Nice to see the young lads playing with confidence.
As for Dovin, not really tested but his distribution was exquisite.
Allen was great. He's someone I had in godden tier of time to move on but if he plays like today I'll happily take that back

For a few games yes

Over a 46 game season no. Sheaf will inevitably as he has now get his niggly injuries that write him off for 10-12 games for a start

It’ll be Sakamoto… He’s not a better player than either of Wright, Simms or EMC.

I’m not hating on Sakamoto, like most people on here, he’s a cult hero to me too.
Wright looked crap on the right last season. Can’t see him playing there. Maybe EMC will, but seems odd as he has consistently played on the left for P’boro and in preseason.

It’s sakamoto’s spot to lose imo

We can't deal with the likes of Preston and Swansea who just bully opposition.

When we play a PL team its much more suited to our style.

I get your point, but I think we have more Quality this Season to finally kill the Hoodoo this Season.

Great work out, very impressive performances all round, apart from Dovin who had fuck all to do all night. 😆

Rudoni and EMC look very good additions, Allen looked really good and lasted well, Thomas and Binks are a solid looking combination, MVE and Sakamoto are top quality and it's good to see Torp back and get 30 minutes under his belt and he took his goal very well. Palmer looked fit and sharp and played a beautiful ball for Torp's goal.

All in all we looked by far the better team.
Exciting times ahead!

Plenty to enthuse about. This is some attacking unit we have
What we do seem to have is a combination of attacking players that should create a lot of chances. Even if a couple are missing, we still possess sufficient to remain a potent threat.
