I disagree that us hillers would take any credit if we moved back.
But I'd agree our fan base isn't too bothered (not necessarily lazy) . I've been all the protests bar the ones in London.
I've been to ones outside the Ricoh with 100 people there thinking 'where is everyone??'
In the same year that we managed a sell out crowd of 30,000, we struggled to find 200 to protest each week against our club being moved outside its home city.
Fair enough the March was incredible, but at the same time why is that a one off for many?
We should have thousands protesting each week, in the city wherever.
NOPM, although I take part in it, isn't showing any signs of moving us back home anytime soon.
That's why I protest each week on the hill, because I think extra is needed.
This is not pointing fingers at anyone. Many of my group who I did go to the games with don't bothe
It's clear that you both think protesting on the hill is pointless (your opinion). So in the interest of fairness, what have you done (other than NOPM) to help?
The march was successful because it wasn't aimed at a particular group, it was easy to do, it was local and it was well marketed. Didn't the telegraph have it on the front page or something to get down there? It also didn't mean missing games or sacrificing anything.
People will only join the fight when they agree with the method and the message I think.
The idea is to raise media awareness is it not?
"It also didn't mean missing games or sacrificing anything" - I thought you said we were watching the game?

Just an honest question Nick...
If we were to have a large protest in town again, would it involve similar numbers?
My opinion would be no, because I worry people have give up
The idea is to bring the club back, not to get into the paper is it not?
The march suited all people, as proven by the turnout.

If there was no-one on the hill at all, it would almost certainly attract comment from Sky (only maybe once) which would clealy send out a mesage that the vast majority of fans had all given up on the club (or team for the pedantic amongst us). A presence on the hill is likely to draw a similar amount of attention , but at least it will raise a bit of awarenes, however limited. The hill, another march, etc.. will not bring us back to Cov, but that isn't what protest does - it raises awareness, keeps the issues in the media consciuosness and it may lead to dialogue due to this; perhaps with the football authorities who have the most to lose reputationally.
Jesus, you buy 3 vuvuzelas off ebay and plan to make your first trip to the hill and all of a sudden you're Lech Walesa.
I don't think that's the case. If there wasn't anyone on the hill then it wouldn't get mentioned as I doubt Sky are even aware of the hill protests. It's like them pointing a camera in the sky because there isn't a UFO flying above the stadium.
It may raise awareness but only to people on here. I know some have said it has got national attention. Where? On football websites? Whereas the boycott and a 90% drop in attendances has received national attention like the time it was features on the FLS.
I'm not claiming to be anything. It's people relentlessly defending their right to do nothing that's making me look like Lech Walesa!
Not really, I could say I have been out all day painting cats sky blue as it is doing something. Will it make a difference?"what have you achieved?" should be the question you say... Well, wouldn't that involve doing something first?

So what about the thousands and thousands of Soccer Saturday viewers around the country that saw the reporter for our match talk about the hill protestors. Something she couldnt fail to hide becuase they were in the top corner of her screen.
Or any neutral viewers of the game on Sunday.
They're all signed up members on here are they?

The thing is, how many people took it in and paid attention to it on Soccer Saturday? It is being spouted as a major achievement because a commentator said a line about it. How many people really took it in and thought about it other than our fans?

Nick, with the greatest respect you come over as a bit of a know nothing do even less.
What causes start from one man saying enough?
Slavery, civil rights, emancipation, democracy, the NHS,.....the list is endless. If everybody listened to peeps like you we'd still be in caves, howling at the moon.

The original idea of NOPM was to show sisu we won't travel 35 miles to watch the club play 'home' games.....
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - so please excuse and spelling or grammar errors
Or standing in the hill shows we won't pay sisu to watch our team...
Going on the hill isn't doing anything - don't you get it?
By the way I have done sonething;
Cancelled some bookings for conference facilities and the Ricoh and encouraged others to do the same
Persuaded some people in Yorkshire to go to Cardiff to see a concert informing them its vastly superior
If people protested outside the exhibition halls every day, advised people to avoid the place on social network sites that will have far more effect than hill standing.
Or that you have enough willpower to properly boycott....

No Hill on Sunday, I have been told Police will not allow it this Sunday!!!. Apparently this happens on certain games when Northampton are playing at sixfields....
Or you can't be arsed to make an effort so 'boycotting' must include sitting at home.
Or that you have enough willpower to properly boycott....
