We seem to sensationalise how good Maddison actually was with us a bit to be honest, he spent the best part of his one proper season in the first team injured and downed tools completely after his move to Norwich was sealed, most fans couldn’t stand him by the end of the season and couldn’t want to be shot of him
Of course it's subjective but I thought pretty early on that Maddison would end up playing for England. Some players just stand out even at any early age. It was obvious he was going to be some player yet at the time many just complained he was lightweight and wouldn’t make it. I think he was 17 at the time?
