Surely have to go out on loan to get game time

I suppose it’s down to what their plan is for him. Alex Neil knows what he’s doing.

Ogogo, Davies and JCH all been starters in a Bristol Rovers team which went up to 5th yesterday. Ogogo has scored in consecutive games and JCH scored on his return yesterday.

An update on another one of our players from last season. Tony Andreu has stayed fit for St.Mirren and in 20 games has a goal and 2 assists. They are 9th in the SPL

Does the good performances of some players after leaving here raise a question about Robins man management / player development skills?

Not many were sad at the departure of Ogogo, JCH or Chaplin. None of them performed that well for us. But they are seemingly performing well for someone else (this does not apply to Brown, who was a sub yesterday). Personally I fear it does. His record with senior pro's who we have brought in is patchy while conversely his record with younger players is very good, which is why last year we had the youngest team in League One. It also might explain the high turnover of players over the last two and a bit seasons.

It will be interesting to see how he gets on with McFadzean, Allen and Godden over the course of a season

I think they just didn't fit the 'system' Robins wanted to play, or were not played in the way they prefer.
Doesn't necessarily mean they were bad players, just not right for us in the way we play.
Now whether the way we play is effective is another question.
We do seem to have a chronic lack of goals, which has now spread over two seasons, and half a dozen different strikers.
That leads me to believe something isn't right.

The only striker we’ve signed with a bit of a proven record at this level is Godden so it’s not as if the goals were there before and they can’t score for us. Chaplin and Bakayoko were signed with development potential in mind, Robins has alluded to as much in recent interviews that this is the type of model we’re running.

Need to ask why Bright hasn't been playing for Wigan, surely?
I think Marcus Browne had the same experience there on loan from West Ham
The following year he went to Oxford, played regularly and thrived - and was then sold to Middlesbrough for around £300k
Too.many young players get loaned out for experience but are left out on the cold

Wigan fan I work with wants Cook gone, says he's pretty negative and doesn't seem to know his best team.

Chaplin scores again for Barnsley. He didn’t do anything for us, I know it’s because he just didn’t suit our style of play but it’s still bloody frustrating!

Ponticelli back on the bench for Tranmere.
However, despite the fact they lose 1-0, he can't get on the pitch.
Tranmere had one shot on target ther whole game and only used one sub.

He’s got a hat-trick now, said at the time it was a mistake to let him go.

But I'm still not convinced he'd have done it here because of the way MR plays.

Fair play to the lad. May be a purple patch or he's finding his feet but you look at him and JCH who've both moved on after looking distinctly average at best for us, as have most of the strikers we've had under MR (McNulty aside who's gone the opposite way seemingly and even he spent half a season looking quite poor). Why is it MR can't seem to sign/train a decent striker? With the amount of chances we tend to create (not including today) why are we unable to find someone to score.

He’s not an ex player...

He would be better off going to L2 or Conference though.
