Hamer starting for Sheff U, looks like he’s staying there for this season.

Woking captain Dion Kelly-Evans causing pandemonium today. Got a straight red for a dangerous tackle from behind on 13 minutes, Woking and Gateshead players fighting off the ball and stewards fighting players. Game abandoned while the injured player was treated on the pitch by medics and two ambulances.

You can't really tell from that tbh. When did 'never step foot on a pitch again' become the go to? See it regularly now.

You'd need some pretty strong evidence of intent to injure to be talking about life bans.

I think the reaction has come from Kelly Evans reaction and lack of concern for his injured opponent rather than the tackle.

No you have it right (, spellings nearly had a W prefix there) but I'm not sure on changing something that he chose to represent his view's which often quite humorous, but has a view opposite to me I wouldn't mind !

That was a truly horrific tackle. Had to zoom in to see it properly, but that’s a leg-breaker, I’m sure.

The way the players and physio reacted was telling; they called for the medics straight away.

Yep, I suspect from the reaction of the heed players, that it may have been similar to the David Bust injury at Manchester United. There wasn’t any fighting, just massive concern for the player, apart from Kelly-Evans. If the challenge is as bad as is being suggested, then there needs to be severe sanction. All the best to Gregg Olley, Gateshead captain.

You maybe want to rethink this?

I had a look at their local online newspaper, and although it’s littered with typos (weirdly) i managed to deduce that he suffered a broken fibula and had ankle syndemosis, which would suggest the tackle was centered right near the ankle itself.

Not in the same league as Busst’s injury, but I’m quite sure that Olley will need a lengthy rehab, nonetheless.

Why, he is a really good lad, i have known him all his life, so ill happily stick to my opinion thanks.

Ill let you stick to guessing about him as a person.
He may well be a good lad, I don’t know him, and my comments are about a tackle that got him immediately sent off, and I make no comment about him as a person. Your post just seemed to celebrate Kelly-Evans while totally ignoring the impact on the Gateshead player.
