Increased budget for recruitment for Robins.

Maybe these ARE good people after all.

“It will be a recruitment system which includes a refreshed scouting network, a clear set of talent identification criteria and transparent communication to the board on progress – from identification of the talent through to securing the talent.

“We are looking at immediate improvements.”

Asked if it meant additional budget for recruitment, he said: “I can confirm that there will be an additional budget for recruitment, but the amount has to be confidential.”

Top bit sounds promising if it happens.

Does all sound very positive.

Forget what has gone on before and let's hope this is a new direction. Pointless I think to just focus on accusations of empty rhetoric and we've seen it all before.

Either Robins has been promised a new direction, or they are pulling the wool over his eyes.

I am plumping for the former. I think the owners must realise the best way for them to get their money back is by making the team successful on the pitch.

The more successful we are, the more attractive a proposition we become. The more attractive we become the more chance of the owners being able to sell up and recoup their money.

I can't say I've ever decided to look at what Fisher has said before buying tickets or a shirt or something.

Wife wants something from Sports Direct, had better check what Ashley has said this week.

Or he'll so be in trouble with joy.

“In any event, an approach would have to be accompanied by proof of funds and a transparent look-through to the ultimate end-investor. This has never happened.”

Be nice if SISU would do the same and let people know who their investors are.........

Cant believe the words transparent and Fisher would ever appear in the same sentence!

I don't know how to feel about this. I've been burned to many times to be pleased but don't want to just go down the old Fisher is a liar route. Proof will be in the pudding though.
Yeah, 80% proof by the sounds of things.

My other thought is whether a decent scouting system could be used instead of an academy.

ie instead of paying 600k a year to develop our own, we could scout lower leagues like Peterborough do and sell players on that way.

I suppose we could do that, Nick, but MR said thet keeping the academy was essential. Perhaps he wants to do both.

Can't understand why you feel the need to ridicule my comment Nick? It's really quite clear that if positive sounding news coming from the club re recruitment etc would encourage people who are otherwise feeling let down by this seasons rubbish on the pitch, may just cause a rethink on their purchase of a season ticket. I'm not sure your Mike Ashley is a valid comparison

Cracker is a nasty word against white people in america i do believe

Well that's my something new learnt today. Had never heard that before.

I plead my case that I was only ribbing Otis about his run of form in his punathon today, using jokes that you would normally find at festive time in those items you pull with another reveller, known as crac..... no wait a minute I am not falling into that trap again! ;)
