Very surprised that Max has been judged to be at fault. Oh to be a fly on the wall when Marko and Horner found out.

They knew it was coming. When you start taking the racing incident line you know your driver is likely to take punishment.

Have to say though, like with Silverstone, I personally think these are racing incidents and should be treated as such. I'm not sure there is absolute fault in either of the big incidents this year. Dangerous precedent to discourage drivers from going for it, although I do get it from a safety perspective - there are times in the past both incidents could've been fatal.

Loving max walk off after the accident. Thats what you gwt when you dont give me space lol

But of revenge for Silverstone perhaps

Come on max you can still do this!

Max is renowned for not giving people space. Drivers are very wary of him because they're afraid of what he might do. Loads of instances in the past where others have either pulled out of an overtaking attempt or let him through purely to avoid a crash.

When you get someone like Lewis who won't do that you end up with what we saw at the weekend.

You can't give time penalties to someone who is no longer in the race. A 3 place drop is about as lenient as it gets not that it will matter if Max takes that 4th engine and starts last anyway.

This is the reason i dislike Lewis (as has been covered on here a lot). I'm pro Max but that's not necessarily because I'm a max fan, its because he's the one who has been closest to shitting on Lewis and Mercedes yawnathon domination of the sport for the last 8 years. If it was say Leclerc in a Ferrari I would be pro Leclerc.

This has been the most dramatic season for me since Schumacher Hakkinen in 2000. F1 is in a great place going forward

The likes of Max, Russell, Leclerc, Sainz, Norris and Gasly will keep F1 in great stead for the future. All of them i feel are capable of winning a championship or 3

Any of you watch Indy car? It's on sky f1 channel too and my 2bd seaosn watching it.

It's refreshingly fun as more balanced so alot of overtaking and different winners

Drawbacks are some tracks are ovals and a lot of yellow flags as alot of collisions but we'll worth watching

Whilst I agree F1 will be in a good place with good drivers for the next 10 years or so. Once Lewis retires I can only see Max being dominant and winning Championship after Championship going forwards, he's the next "One of a generation" IMO (Lewis, Schumacher and Senna the others in my lifetime).
The only thorn to that is if Red Bull manage to make a backwards step in development / maintenance of the engine for the car properly once Honda step out next year.

FWIW I think Max will blow his own title chance this year with more crashes.

Leclerc, Russell and Lando will be up there challenging him over the next few years assuming they have the car.

Anyone else quite happy for Max and Lewis to keep crashing in to each other.

It makes the races much more interesting have the midfield teams battle it out for podium places.

One surprise is just how poor the 2nd red bull seat is again. it does feel like red bull put everything in to max and the second car just isn't set up for the driver.

Also doesn't help that Perez is never told to give a place back when its pretty obvs he gained an advantage.

Yeah, nice to get a different winner, whoever it was. Would like to see Vettel get a win too, just for old time's sake.

ANd Perez can consider himself very lucky to keep his seat, if the consensus is Bottas should have lost his. Not sure what Gasly has to do to get recognised again, mind you.

Gasly is an odd one. He lost his seat but has been far better in the AlphaTauri. Is this down to team dynamics and setting the car up for him ?

Does this show the Redbull 2nd seat is tainted ?

With a stronger driver than Tsunoda and a little bit of good luck. Alpha could be pushing for a higher finish.

I agree would love to see See do well. I never really liked Ferrari sep. But he defo has his mojo and personality back.

Possible - you'd never really fancy the Ferrari second seat in Schumacher days either, really. But you'd think to be consistently slower than Verstappen, but qualifying top four reasonably regularly shouldn't be beyond Perez.

It's all very odd. Id have expected Perez to be a lot closer this season. he constantly makes rookie mistakes.

Could be down to McLaren and Ferrari getting stronger.

Another curious case is Hass and Mazepin. The team clearly dont want to upset him due to the ££. But the guy is damn right dangerous.

That's more a traditional F1 role though - sport's been full of monied jokers!

He makes a mockery of the whole super licence basically buying one. I assume the FIA want to keep him happy. As when Hass pulls the plug on the team. Mazepins dad/ Russian backers will take over.

Be nice if the whole 'race' didn't really! I know it gives Russell and WIlliams a podium, but it's all a joke.

The way Williams and Russell celebrated and milked it was pretty embracing to be honest. Its not how id want my first podium. esp when you know your moving to Merc.

He's been unlucky in races with them, and points in short supply the past few seasons, so I can see why they'd take it when they could.

It's not deserved though, for any of them.

To think, he was pretty close to 'winning' that race!

I actually rate Stroll. Not saying he would get the chance without daddy but I’ve seen worse paid drivers.

Agreed. Hated him in 2017

But as pay drivers go, he's probably one of the best there's ever been. There are worse drivers on the grid lets be fair. You don't get poles and podiums in a Force India in inclement weather if you're shit.

Even Latifi has shown some good signs of improvement recently.

Mazepin can suck his mum though the thunderbird head
