Abysmal. Well and truly boring and I thought that before max said anything. Monaco might be iconic but it has zero racing ability. Needs to go

Good to hear the drivers speaking up about it & saying something needs to change.

I want Monaco to stay.

#1 problem is the size/width of the current cars. They're massive. Should be smaller, but I doubt it will happen now.

Lewis' suggestion is interesting. Maybe just give them all unlimited sets of the old hypersofts that only last 10-20 laps and see what happens.

I'm not against Monaco staying on the calender either honestly. It'd just be replaced with some other generic, bland street circuit in some griddy American city, which I think I'd enjoy even less.

There's definitely scope for changes though. The idea about tyres is certainly worth discussing. Part of the problem this weekend was that both medium and hards had the lifespan to make the entire race distance, which was never going to be good news if, say, there was a red flag in the first couple of laps....oh.

Ocon leaving Alpine at the end if the season. Think Monaco decided that for him, although it wouldn't surprise me if they seriously thought about putting someone else in for Canada and this was the compromise they reached...

Ocons always crashed into his teammates

Hes fast, but he always seems to get into accidents.

The bigger shock for me is Perez staying at Red Bull until 2026, Madness!

Perez brings in sponsorship and his salary is basically covered. Red Bull aren't bringing in a driver that could genuinely compete with Max because of the fragility behind the scenes - don't want to rock the boat and upset him etc

What a qualifying session, 0.000 between the top 2, Norris just 0.021 off as well, top five covered by less than two tenths.

We really have a season on dont we

With Mercedes now joining the party it could be a season for the ages

What a turnaround from 3 months ago!

Ok I'm being sucked back in. Starting to look competitive. Norris should have had that win.

With Lando and Oscar scoring points regularly, McLaren have a real chance of taking the constructors this season. I don't mind Max winning as long as it's an actual race and not just him driving off into the distance each time.

That McLaren is clearly the fastest car on the grid now and has been for a while. Yet I just don't think Lando is good enough. He isn't elite level like Max or Peak Lewis, Schumacher etc

That sprint proves it. Gets past Max but then let's Max straight back through. Max gets past someone he ensures that's it and they aren't coming back past

But made up a helluva time in the last race, clearly faster than max on clear road. Max is very good at starting and aggressively taking positions on the road

Have to ask if having Perez to keep Verstappen happy is worth it, he's getting so bad. Every chance he'll cost them a constructor's title at this rate. Guess if Verstappen wins another couple of drivers' titles it's worth it, but next season Perez could be a real handicap.

It leaves me snookered on the red bull aswell. Is the Red Bull really the 4th fastest car now (which perez shows it is), and is Max really Schumacher levels of driver. Or is the red bull still a great car but he's just fucking useless?

He's never really impressed though, had a small purple patch then disappeared when the pressure went on. At least Bottas showed he could be faster than Hamilton on occasion, just couldn't do it consistently.

Anyway, lets hope for anyone but Max this afternoon!

Again bottlejob Lando

He isnt good enough to take Max on for me. Imagine prime Lewis, Schumacher or Alonso in that McLaren it would be a fantastic battle

Alternatively he's having to push extra hard to keep up. Hamilton made lots of mistakes when his McLaren ended up slower.

Anyway, worth it if he nobbles Max every week!

Max back to his old tricks. Pathetic driving from him

Lando just isn't good enough for me I'm sorry. Doesn't have the killer instinct of your Schumachers, Hamiltons, Alonsos

Perez is pathetic, can't beat a Haas in that car

Max doesn't like genuine competition. Easy to be a nice guy when you're dominating. Thought Max was lucky not to have been penalised for late/double moves. Plus should have given Norris the place back before the crash

Agreed.

I don't want to advocate dangerous driving buylt this is where you want Lando to go all out, stick it on Max on track, and take on the Max mantle of 'if you don't move we will both crash' for the rest of the season.

Show he's got the bollocks to take Max on head to head for the title next season

Exactly. Max has bullied a lot of drivers on track. The "new" calmer Max of recent seasons was because his car was so dominant he didn't need any antics.
Anyone who has some sort of car parity with Max is going to have to get feisty and be prepared for a proper, hard confrontation. Tbh Russell is one I'd think might have the "coldness" required to take on Max.
If Norris remains a genuine challenger then his friendship with Max and the previous warm words from Red Bull will soon disappear.
