Just posted on the Death List about Eddie. RIP a real character.

"Character" seems to be the word of choice in all the obituaries. Loved his enthusiasm as a pundit once the team principal days were done, will be a big miss.

One of the more surreal nights of my life was being drunk in the campsite at Spa watching a band with him on drums and Damon Hill on guitar smash out some classics.

Only caught the quick highlights but enjoying the front of the grid for the sprint tomorrow (without my papaya hat on), really nicely mixed.

I think he'll improve.

RB are so bad at managing that second seat though.

I actually hope he does. Just a question of would it be better for him to swap seats with, say, Tsunoda later in the season?

Red Bull have backed themselves into a corner really, over the last couple of seasons. They've designed a car around a driver that can really deliver in it because his style is quite extreme, and even then it means Max is having to drive out of his skin most weekends. There really isn't much hope for anyone else to be able to do the same, because nobody else drives the same way Max does, or at least not to the same extremes.

Hamilton has Leclerc’s number this weekend.

Impressive from Russell.

I think Norris will win the championship but he’s bottling a bit again this weekend.

As it stands the only thing that will stop Lando winning the title is Lando. He's implying he's making mistakes because the car is difficult to drive but he's only made them when it matters so far this weekend.

I'm pleased for Hadjar after last week as well, especially after Marko saying it was embarrassing that he cried. Hopefully a good battle off the line between him, Antonelli, Tsunoda and Albon

It's clear now that whoever goes in that second Red Bull seat are on a hiding to nothing

Literally definition of poisoned chalice
It’s a car that’s been built to be so pointy that only Max can handle it. I get that Max can extract the most from it but from a constructors point of view, I can’t understand why they don’t build a more balanced car between under/over steer.

Because Max doesn’t want anyone in it that will take points from him?

I've said it before on here, i genuinely think Piastri is the better driver of the 2. Definitely has a higher ceiling than Lando. He's one of the best I've seen at wheel to wheel racing

I just feel however quick he is as a driver, Lando doesn't have the mental toughness and win at all costs mentality that F1 world champions need

If Lando does win the title and doesn't show improvement on a regular basis, like last week, then he would be the weakest champion since Jacques Villeneuve for me

In a way, because they've both got an error/bad quali in them, either of them getting the title depends on how much the other teams close the gap before the end of the season as well. They really need to make the most of it in the same way Max essentially won it in the first 10 races last year

I’m conflicted this year because I want Lando to get his first title but I also want Lewis to get the record-breaking eighth that he was cruelly robbed of a few years ago. I also want George to win it!

😆

Solid race, went about as well as planned. Get the 1-2 off the line, flawless to the end by Oscar and fair play to Lando for riding out the brake issues.

Kudos to Leclerc for waiting till the race to put it on Lewis with half a wing as well 😂

Apparently both Ferrari's are in danger of getting disqualified

Edit: looks like excessive skid wear for Hamilton and weight for Leclerc, Gasly also DSQ for weight.

Wow just seen this. Leclerc's down to tyre wear after doing a 1-stop which is the what did for Russell in Spa last year isn't it?

Apparently now there are rumours spreading that Lawson will be replaced By Tsunoda for the next race in Japan.

Just read that also. Pathetic

He hasn’t looked good in the first two races but he must have shown enough potential for Red Bull to take him on in the first place.

I would have thought he deserves a few more races to try and prove himself.

Good to see Oscar get the win he controlled the race well

A weekend we're more used to seeing of Lando, George Russell extracting another podium from that Mercedes is impressive

Honestly Ferrari, I give up

Im not sure why he was given the seat over Yuki to start with.

But does seam a bit odd to replace so quick.

Apparently there was a chance Yuki was going to get promoted, but I'm sure I remember seeing there was a split between Horner and Marko and it went to Lawson instead on the basis Horner thought he had a higher potential. For me, Yuki with a bit of experience behind him in the main team and let Hadjar and Lawson have it out in the junior team would have made most sense.

Even so, you can't judge anyone on the basis of two race weekends, especially when they're back to back and you've had no time to make any updates to the car that you already know is difficult to drive.

Slightly different circumstances, but even Yuji Ide got four races before the FIA decided he was a walking disaster area and took his super licence away!

And what happens if they do put Tsunoda in the car and things aren't much better? Do they then put Hadjar in, and end up ruining three drivers confidence in the space of half a season?

I saw something not sure if true or not. But max apparently said for Yuki not to be promoted. As the current car is awful and he doesnt feel it's fair on Yuki to have to drive it.

Im a big Yuki fan but I think Lawson should atleast have a few races to prove himself.

Unless Redbull want Yuki in for the Japanese race for marketing.

Madness....but very funny because it's Red Bull.

Promoting Lawson ahead of Yuki because they think he's got a higher ceiling was stupid, especially when the car is so hard to drive. Hopefully this doesn't now ruin Yuki. Sticking it in the top 8 every week is all he needs to do really but that's easier said than done.
