So far? Only at amateur / university level AFAIK. 72 are playing. I believe Blair Hamilton was/is GK for English universities team. Others will surely follow. That's one woman displaced from the team and one too many. What impact has this had on the women’s game so far?

Into the men’s leagues as according to the gender they were assigned at birth. So where would the trans players go?

Personally I think it might be quite difficult to integrate people who to all intents and purposes present as women to slot straight into a men’s team, use the men’s changing rooms etcThey are men - so in the mens teams - its not difficult

I don’t have the strong feelings on this topic that others do, but let’s not pretend there are easy solutions to this
No, as I said, there are no easy solutions to this - though apparently you think otherwise. It might also be rather difficult for women with a man using their changing rooms - or is that something you aren't bothered about? No strong feelings but on the thread anyway
The same was, and in some places still is, said about gay men in football. Someone born and raised biologically male clearly has a huge physical advantage over those born biologically female.Personally I think it might be quite difficult to integrate people who to all intents and purposes present as women to slot straight into a men’s team, use the men’s changing rooms etc

What are people saying about gay men in football? Wasn’t aware there was a dispute. The same was, and in some places still is, said about gay men in football. Someone born and raised biologically male clearly has a huge physical advantage over those born biologically female.
A league of their own but both versions?Personally I think it might be quite difficult to integrate people who to all intents and purposes present as women to slot straight into a men’s team, use the men’s changing rooms etc

I thought you were against policing threads, or does your desire to chase me around the forum trump that?
There are very likely many more gay players than are publicly ‘out’. The reasons why aren’t hard to figure out. What are people saying about gay men in football? Wasn’t aware there was a dispute.
Right, but what has that got to do with the biological physical advantage stuff you were mentioning? There are very likely many more gay players than are publicly ‘out’. The reasons why aren’t hard to figure out.

That's a problem for the men then.Personally I think it might be quite difficult to integrate people who to all intents and purposes present as women to slot straight into a men’s team, use the men’s changing rooms etc

No such thing. You can modify your body. You cannot change sex. It's impossible. If someone has had a full sex change then I don’t see the issue with them using their ‘new’ gender changing room or playing on that team.
I can see the merits in excluding those with a biological advantage from the highest competitive levels of a sport - even if I think the cases are going to be extremely rare, it makes sense to preserve competitive integrity. But at the grassroots level? There is an easy solution as other sports have adopted
I honestly don’t mind if you insist on frothing away at every one of my posts on every forum, but at least have the courtesy not to misquote me, you’re getting sloppy.“No strong feelings on this topic”
I play grassroots level. Am I not entitled to respect, fairness and dignity because I am not "elite"?I can see the merits in excluding those with a biological advantage from the highest competitive levels of a sport - even if I think the cases are going to be extremely rare, it makes sense to preserve competitive integrity. Of course you are - my question is, is that contingent on trans people being barred from playing alongside you?I play grassroots level. Am I not entitled to respect, fairness and dignity because I am not "elite"?

Equality Act 2010 allows single sex exemptions for sport. It seems the FA doesn't care enough to apply it correctly.Assume there’s some kind of legal angle (Equality Act?) that helps to define it one way or the other. Clueless as to what the sustainable solution is, but clearly there is a biological advantage (and possible danger) involved in a ‘male’ participating in female sport.
I want to hear her perspective which is why I’m asking her the questions, if you’d just settle down for a second.I think her views are - as a woman - a bit more relevant than yours. Do you agree?

Yes. Males put me at a disadvantage if they wish to play in women's sport. You know they are bigger, stronger, faster etc on average. I also don't want any males in the changing room - including my husband, son, brother, nephews etcOf course you are - my question is, is that contingent on trans people being barred from playing alongside you?

Which is all fair enough. Do you have any sympathy for trans women (or whatever terminology you’d use), or do you think there are ever any exceptions? The numbers of people involved seem tiny, so curious if you think there could be any way to compromise without shutting them out entirely.Yes. Why must I have sympathy for anyone who wishes to force their way into a category they are not entitled to?Which is all fair enough.
