As the commentators and pundits have blowing smoke up Liverpools arse about producing these kids, I thought would have a look. Only 3 of the 10 actually came through the academy, the other 7 were all signed aged 15 or older from another club.
Harvey Elliot 20 - signed for Liverpool in 2019 aged 16
Amara Nallo 17 - signed as a 16 year old from West Ham in 2023 fee unknown
Calum Scanlon 19 - signed as a 15 year old from Birmingham for £500k in Dec 2020
Trey Nyoni 16 - signed from Leicester in 2023 fee unknown
Kaide Gordon 19 - signed from Derby in 2021 for a few of £1m rising to £3m
Conor Bradley 20 - signed from Dungannon Swifts aged 16
James McConnell 19 - signed from Sunderland at U15s level
Jarell Quansah 21 - came through the academy
Lewis Koumas 18 - came through the academy from age 11
Jayden Danns 18 - came through the academy

They have still produced the talents. Why does it matter if it's 2/3 years compared to 6/7? It's fantastic for the country more than anything that young British players are getting opportunities at such a big club. And the academy is rightly getting plaudits for providing the players (again even if only for 2/3 years) with the education and development to be able to do it on the biggest stage.
