Family Zone - Questions.. (6 Viewers)

This is going to be the first season I take my Son to some games - Just hit 5 and finally starting to take an interest in football.

Il get him a JSB membership but wanted to ask some questions about the family Zone... Are there any pre-game activities? What gate do you use?

It is usually below the Telegraph / Higgs stand in that corner.

Yep there is usually plenty to do, crafts, table football, subbuteo, jenga, connect 4, Fifa, usually raffles and quizzes and a tombolo to go to the dugout to watch the team warmup. Players come down to meet the kids every week as well.

5 is a good age to start taking them. I started taking my youngest lad at 4. Spent half of the time going to the toilet. I soon learned not to let him have too much to drink.

The family zone is great for kids. But my lad prefers to be where the noise is. He loves away games as we are all close together. And he gets to tell everyone off for swearing :smuggrin: He is treated very well by our fellow supporters and our opponents supporters.

He is nearly 8 now. Loves every minute of it. Doesn't care what division we are in. It is all about having a day out with his dad and meeting people. But it looks like I will be taking his little sister as well from now. She is a year older than him. Doing a trial run in a few weeks to see if I can cope with the pair of them.

Being a parent is all about memories. And we have lots of them already from going to games.

I take my children (7 & 5) for some of the games I travel back for and the family zone is great, they love it!
Hope for good weather (it can get quite chilly in the stands) and mine have got into the habit of having a half time snack...needed this in first game to boost morale as 2-0 down from first half.
Although the mascot packages have gone, if you contact Ccfc before your first game they will read your name out on the tannoy before game and at half time. This gave my daughter an extra reason to smile.

Although the mascot packages have gone, if you contact Ccfc before your first game they will read your name out on the tannoy before game and at half time. This gave my daughter an extra reason to smile.

For the snack stuff, I just usually stop off on the way and get a Tesco Meal deal for £3

Might even invest in a flask this year for hot chocolate.

We do for drinks etc, but they really like the hot dogs - I am trying to wean them off them.

Exactly. Once he had experienced away games there was no going back to the family zone. The good thing about home games is we can get close to the noise but still have a seat where he can see everything.

My little boy also loves a hotdog at games. Then gets sauce all over his top.

Yeovil is also the game I am taking my two to on the trial run. Leaving about 5am so hoping that they sleep for some of the journey. Don't worry about the away end. They will love it.

Been pondering the flask idea for a couple of seasons now! But I always see old people with flasks! I'm 32, is that old enough for a flask? Is it acceptable if it's for "the kids"?

I reckon you can get away with it, make sure it's a newish one and not something from the back of your grandad's garage. Make it look bear grylls style.

I can see my lad watching about the first 10 minutes before asking for my phone to play on! The older he gets the more I think he will be interested in it all. Cant wait for Saturday though!

No, you can get him a free ticket with yours

The volunteers though are what makes the family zone...it's got to the stage where I even enjoy talking ccfc with pat and her gang.

Just go into the stand (tesco) and then walk towards Telegraph stand, it's usually in the corner

Hi I m taking two of my numerous grandchildren to their first game on Saturday. Two girls 8 and 6. Have do you know if the family Zone is open for the game, are there any entrance conditions. We wo nt be sitting in the family zone and they are nt JSBs.

No restrictions for family zone. Just turn up. Should be there. Only mid week games when it's not. Players are normally gone by around 2pm ish so get there early to catch the players and the raffles and what not.
