How many kids will be able to attend that many midweek games ? Not surprised at all by these statistics . I wonder how many Saturday matches are actually missed compared to midweek matches. I doubt it's anywhere near 1/3 and the club would know.
Loads will miss matches in August because they're on holiday, whatever the penalty.
I don't see any business case for that unless the entire ground is sold out week in week out. It's being implemented here as demand far outstrips supply. It's supposedly sold out yet we can all see loads of empty seats even on Saturday 3pm kick offs.....that'll change before long , Dave, if this is deemed to " work"
I wonder what will happen if you can't attend, let's say, a midweek game with an expected turn out of no more than 23k.
You inform the club accordingly. The club fails to sell your ticket (s).
Does that count towards your three strikes? Do the club inform you the ticket was sold or not ?
No one wanted your seat and therefore you haven't deprived anyone else .
But as a season ticket holder you need to know where you stand .
Does the season ticket holder benefit directly by putting their tickets on the " exchange" or doesn't the club actually know what that is yet ?That’s fine. Put them on the exchange.
I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect season ticket holders to attend 50% of games
not sure how anyone can laud this idea
1) you buy a season ticket, that’s your ticket for the season. you’ve bought into the process and adding funds to the club. what you do with that ticket is your prerogative
2) ticket exchange only works if the cbs is sold out week on week which it won’t be while still in the championship. even the games where we ‘sold out’ there were tickets available the day before.
3) Doug was happy to take money and not worry about non attendance after the United game was announced. many bought tickets just for points and not bother with the game (Ipswich and hull games prime example)

The club may not get involved at all.No, obviously not. If the club don't sell it, it's their problem. Not yours.
They'd be a bit silly not to introduce a waiting list if demand is very high.1) Read the T&Cs of any club. The season ticket isn't yours. It remains the property of the club.
2) The Family Zone was the first and almost only area of the stadium fully sold out. It's a high demand area. Tickets have never been available in that area.
3) Completely irrelevant to the Family Zone.
The club may not get involved at all.

Possibly, but there will be availability this year because you'd imagine people won't buy them for the sake of a cheap ticket this year knowing they have to attend most games.
King isn’t bothered about empty seats it’s about getting revenue from the one concession area.

If he was that bothered he’d have just put up the prices, which are a bargain
The additional revenue from FZ ticket resale will be fuck all in the grand scheme of things. As has been shown by frozen ticket prices this is clearly about stopping people abusing the family zone pricing and it not being fully utilised on match days

And also about maximising the draw for the fans of the future.
What’s to stop someone buying re-sell tickets for a sell out game and the “child” is ill that night?
What’s to stop someone buying re-sell tickets for a sell out game and the “child” is ill that night?
Absolutely nothing. But you can’t stop all wrongdoing.
Just like there’s nothing to stop someone bringing in a Novichok nerve agent and killing us all.
It’s all about likelihood
Well that’s a rational comparison
Other industries, airlines and hotels spring to mind, get around this issue by overbooking. Sure there would be no complaints at all if people were turning up to games and not being let in because too many tickets had been sold in a particular area.Absolutely nothing. But you can’t stop all wrongdoing.
Perhaps if your child has chicken pox you will have to get a doctor's note .What’s to stop someone buying re-sell tickets for a sell out game and the “child” is ill that night?

I'd expect them to be penalised legally TBF!! So it's undesirable!!Other industries, airlines and hotels spring to mind, get around this issue by overbooking. 3) Completely irrelevant to the Family Zone.
1) when you purchase a season ticket, that seat is yours. Simple as that. if this is a money making and greed to sell a seat twice over then it’s wrong imo.
2) it’s a high demand area because of prices. if the seat is sold on the exchange platform it will be sold at full ticket price which goes back to point 1
3) you don’t believe this won’t be rolled out across the ground. its a trial and will be used further down the line if the uptake is there. unused seats seem to be an issue when it suits. didnt see uproar with loads of empty seats for Ipswich and hull
like i said once you commit and purchase a season ticket, its your choice whether you attend every game or not especially with the amount of games not on a Saturday. agree with the empty seats but same applies for the point grabbers for Wembley but didn’t hear a moan about thatIt's not, the season ticket remains owned by the club. It's the second line in the T&C's. Hence why you cannot resell it yourself.
You're right, the demand is high because of the prices but it was sold out. Hence the news to resale/exchanges. It should be sold at a full price like any normal ticket. Although that full price should still be cheaper due to it being the family zone (I'm certain it will be).
It absolutely won't be rolled out around the ground until we sell out every match. You seem to be missing the point. This was an issue in every single game. It's not trying to penalise people missing the odd game. It's to stop people buying an adult ticket for £250 and deciding to turn up to a handful of games. It's so cheap that people could afford to buy one and go on holiday for 6 months and it not to matter. When you pay £400, you can't really afford to miss more than a few games.

I don't think from about the age 7-8Josh suffered from his mom thinking he wouldn't get enough sleep, but since then no objections!Just out of curiosity is there anyone on here who missed 10 games last season because it was a school night ?

the family zone is to entice families to watch and support the club. midweek games for young kids is hard. anyone with a child knows this. especially young 6-8 year olds. so does that mean a parent who took out the family zone and can’t take a young child to a midweek game can’t go either? its silly argument. I cant imagine resale platform selling out for midweek games because of that
Equally? I'd like to think the chances of a child being unwell and unable to go is greater than someone bringing in novichok. Its equally hypothetical

Or an age limit?I'm not sure that many bought tickets just for points. I hear this about most away games. Why would you spend £37 and not go? Bit different to having a dirt cheap season ticket and not going. People are taking advantage of the cheapest season ticket in the League and not using it. That's not fair when the area is sold out. Why should others miss the opportunity for a cheaper ticket because of them?
You're right, it is difficult to go midweeks, hence why they are allowing a resale system. Some parents may allow their kids to go those games and will take advantage of a (hopefully) cheaper resale ticket.
The system was cheated and some people bought tickets and didn't use them. The alternative would be increasing the prices in the Family Zone and that's not right.
Or an age limit?
And accept that parents are not going to be able to allow to attend at all on midweek?
What would be acceptable to everyone?10?
