Might have to at this rate going to give it a couple of weeks to see if he is a man of his word and do it the way we were promised.

If not may have to attend a clandestine meeting.

Will let people on here know about it afterwards if I do though. :)

Or more likely you just keep posting like a hero and not actually do anything ;)

Are you taking the piss?

Man of his word :D

Suppose we will find out in three weeks.

Feel like Rambo when I ask questions about a meeting. Then you remind me that i am too frightened to meet ML on a sofa for a beer and i become reduced to a mere keyboard warrior.

It's so depressing :(

Would you like some milk with your rusks?

Not my words Grendel's he assured us all there would be a public forum as ML is a man of his word.

I prefer a public forum and asking the question in front of everyone on a mike. It's quite intimidating but It's the only time this nervous keyboard warrior gets a crazy release and a feel of empowerment. Then I disappear back into my dark room with my keyboard giving it large all talk no trousers type of stuff :)

Not sure where the confidence comes from to do that to be honest.

I say again, I advised that a forum is not appropriate and more small workshop discussions would be better.

I believe I am not alone in offering the advice. The purpose of focus groups is to gather opinions. If the opinion is a forum is not appropriate at this time he should not do one - that's listening to public opinion,

He seemed mad keen to do one. I will be glad if he doesn't.

Surely the best place to garner opinion would be at the match today, rather than asking Nick to get a few people together at short notice. He may have this in hand though.

To be fair he said he could not answer the key questions on the radio as he needed to Steve Brookfield to answer them

But yes a few focus groups with ML SB and 10-15 fans would possibly be more productive.

And fans getting the chance to let the 10-15 know the real key questions before the meetings so opportunities are not missed.

I agree with Grendel and the way ML went about this. Nick gave him a selection of posters with differing opinions. It was off the record and his meetings were in small groups. There was no chance of agendas being discussed in advance. In this way he got more honest and frank opinions than at a forum where people know they are being watched. A forum is pointless, at least before the JR as the council will not be there and it will be seen as bias. I too hope that ML doesn't go down that road. After the JR decisions will have to made and it would be useful to have open discussions at that time.

I think we can safely say the first part the promise has not been kept the fans forum with ML SW and SB Is not happening in April. That's forgivable to be fair, lets see if it happens at all and if it is before the JR as promised (keyboard warrior)

Again I must remind he did focus groups. If the feedback was not to have a forum he has to heed that advice

At last he is listening to real fans and taking their advice.

If that is the case wouldn't it be wise to make an announcement that other than those who had the chance to attend those meetings he won't be meeting with anyone else?

Where? In the CET? Hardly likely. I don't see the issue. It would be a waste of time. OSB or the other guy who always showed up would roll out his accounts, he'd be followed by shouty idiots who couldn't understand the accounts and then someone would ask if we could loan Bigi back.

Embarrasing and pointless.

Do you know whether there were any focus groups other than those attended by people on this site?

There were two other people at the meeting. Both have inside knowledge and one in particular a previous association and a wealth of knowledge (i will refer to him as Mr A)The official line is sisu want the Ricoh either owned or on a long exclusive leasehold with their management company running the events management. If this does not happen then they will construct a stadium.

Mr a agreed with me. The stadium will not be built as it will make huge losses. His view was that sisu have not done much wrong and the council are very difficult to work with.

Strange that the council have worked hand in hand with hundreds of companies for many years.....oh hang on sorry, I must have dreamt SISU's bad reputation in negotiating before buying our club!

How many companies have they had 50% ownership in a private enterprise? Sorry I thought they never had before. By the way I've been involved in leasing a premises off the council last year and they were fucking useless.

I'd love to hear their side of the story. Nick please can you try and arrange a forum for this.

A note on the website would suffice. If you've announced something as happening and then have decided it won't, for whatever reason, it's courteous to inform people. If you don't you leave yourself open to accusations of failing to follow through on your promises or having something to hide.

Yeah and you are clue less. Now talk about SISU's reputation before buying our club and spread the love and trust.

I don't think either sisu or ccc have bragging rights over reputation do they?

Are you talking historically or just in this deal?

Hobo

Both really

So when we were at Highfield Road the council were detrimental to us? Then when the club started building the Ricoh and finances ran aground they let us die in a ditch because they didn't care about the cub?

All SISU have ever done is try to devalue the Ricoh and try to become our mortgage lender. When they talk about revenue streams it's for their funds not for the benefit of CCFC.

If the Ricoh is so valueless why are they still sticking around. Or has Joy fallen in love with the club at the expense of her investors?

If that is the case why don't they bring our club home? Everyone but RFC would have said the same.
