Yep, that's a fairly feasible scenario...it's 50/50 for me, if it occurs this season. Spurs do seem keen.

I just hope we don't accept any old bid for him, whoever wants him and wants him badly enough, make them pay 4-5 million for him.

If Spurs make a move for him it may smoke a few others out as well and start a bidding war (but will we see a penny of it or will it be paid in Cayman island dollars?)

Yeah, that's the pitfall. Say for instance, we get £4mil for him, they'll write off 3 and a million may only go towards the budget. It's the state of the club isn't it, there's naff all we can do, just hope the budget is increased to a level where we can bring in a few quality freebies or several quality loaners.

As long as we have TM and MV, we can be assured the money allocated will be prudently spent.
