Favourite Intro's To Songs ? (1 Viewer)

Sometimes the start to records stand out more than the songs themselves. I've been listening again to Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf, and I love the opening to : You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth. Brilliant start to a great track. I also like the start of ACDC's Whole Lotta Rosie, thumping intro. Enter Sandman by Metallica always attracts my attention it's so well known by rock fans,but I never tire of hearing it. So what intro's do you like ?

Dreams by the Cranberries. Not a song I'm hugely into but it's a cracking start. There's a LeAnn Rimes song that starts with a fine sounding power chord but then descends into a LeAnn Rimes tune. Always disappoints.

Okay, so this is gonna make me sound like a right old fart (which I am, so I don't care!), but my favourite start (and build up) is Tchaikovsky's 1812 overture. It starts off really slow and soft and then builds to an amazing spine tingling crescendo of music and canon fire, with the bells of St Catherine's in the background! Brilliant! Have a listen and get some finesse and class wrapped around yer lugholes!

I too like a bit of classical. Vivaldi's Four Seasons, and anything by Greig. A lot of rock music has come from inspiration from a lot of classical music.

How about the start to Burn and Smoke On The Water ? Theyve just played Can't Get Enough by Bad Company on Planet Rock. Great intro !

Strange but true. Put a set of ladders up against a window ledge and give them a shake, and it sounds like the start of Silver Machine by Hawkwind ! They have to be aluminium though !

Was at the Odeon in Brum when it was the last ever concert before it closed down, and the Cult was the final act there, great live band,and the place was shaking !

Don't mind a bit of classical, the start of the No3 Symphony by Saint Saens is quite explosive.
But away from classical, the countdown start to the Thunderbirds theme voiced by Peter Dyneley (Jeff Tracy) has remained a favourite.
