Sure Cardiff/QPR owners said the same and look where that got them no harm being ambitious but saying those types of things before even kicking a ball in the prem will make people sceptical, to survive in the prem for 3 years after going up would be successful, can see them getting through a fair few managers next season hope to see them in the championship in a few seasons ;)

I reckon Derby will have a better season than them ,assuming they make It past QPR ,which I think they will.

Good luck to them. Let's not embarrass ourselves by being bitter. We'd snap someone's hand off to trade places.

It's pathetic and childish to refer to them as 'Festa' as well. Makes me cringe.

First time you've written anything that I 100% agree with. I said this to some Chelsea fans about 2-3 years ago. When Abramovich gets bored with Chelsea, it's written into the contract that all money spent on players/ground/village etc, will have to be paid back to him. All open and above board loans...I would say "Where have we heard this before" but I won't.

Sold out of season tickets. I wonder if their local authority sees football worthless to the local economy?

Go on. Say it. It'll buy you some delicious likes. Bet you won't say it.

Ah no, didn't mean it like that - fair play to them. It's just that the whole set up of the PL stinks now. The game has gone crazy, and all of the money ends up in the hands of a few top players whilst most clubs and fans below the very top suffer.

To be competitive in the PL now, you seem to need oligarch level funding - which is ridiculous imho. Oh for the days when teams like Norwich, Millwall and Forest and even Villa and us could compete on something approaching level terms...

Edit: Actually, scratch the Millwall thing. I've got to admit that I detest Millwall.

Totally agree with you. My villa fan 'mate' at work only wants a billionaire owner and nothing else to buy the club. Understandable, but a shame.

Lol !!
The most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.
These owners are billionaires Abramovich has owned Chelsea for 11 years now. Their investment is pennies to them.
Name one billionaire owner who has got bored and decided to stop funding ?
They are all passionate about football !!

The only passion killers in football are hedge funds !!!!!!

No good being jealous while Festa are watching the likes of Suarez, YaYa, Rooney and other world stars in the flesh we will be watching journeymen at Crawley, Port Vale and possibly Fleetwood and have to go to fucking Northampton to do that.

So you think Abramovich will stick around forever??
Passionate about football my arse, it's a plaything and a status symbol. Do you really think Abramovich was an avid Chelsea fan before he took over?
It'll all go pop eventually.
I'm glad you think it's ridiculous though, proves I'm correct :)

Not sure about being bored or not, but Hull CITY's owner threatened to walk away with his money if they didn't let him rebrand them Hull TIGERS... If he was to actually follow through with the threat, where does that leave the club and fans?
But, overall, I agree with the opinion that personal, millions in investements can be a detriment to a club rather than being self-sustaining from ticket sales, merch, and corp sponsor. Because the moment that artificial funding suddenly disappears, the true financial weight of a club is shown. But, also using that model, Coventry City would drop 4 leagues in 4 years I suppose.
My thoughts are scattered now I guess.

I think, and it only THINK mind, that Leicester's owner has converted debt to equity, or some kind of legal malarky, so that effectively most of what he's put in is transferred to the club itself, so he can't go and take the dosh out himself. Something to that effect, though doubtless someone will put us right.

While he's a rich businessman who didn't get where he was today by wasting money, maybe its some kind of honour or pride thing with him where he's really stuck with them and put his money where his mouth is. Perhaps there will be a point when he does think enough is enough, like the Villa Chairman, and sell up...but saying he'll shell out £180m to make them a top 5 club, I think he'll stick around until he achieves just that. Remarkable, I thought he followed West Ham!

Hi COAB

I always looked down on Leicester as a joke of a club.

It really pains me to say it that we are a joke club.

History tells us though things can change and quicker than you think sometimes, hopefully!!!

Is it just me or does this all sound like Fester are being lined up to be the next Portsmouth? In terms of boom and bust?

No it isn't. You are you mean. What you say is what you are. And you're not allowed to say nice things.

Yes but when you're worth a few billion it is peanuts. They're using City as a vehicle to globalise their King Power brand. They're here for the long run I'd have thought

A very good post that and I can still remember losing at Wembley to moneybags Blackburn in 1992 wondering whether it will be our turn and now it is and these owners do seem genuine.... Just hope Cov can get back up there but I am afraid it seems a million miles away at the mo, but I am sure your time will come

First time I've 'liked' a Leicester fan - except you Dave Turner and son Stuart (season ticket holders at King Power) - and I haven't even had the decency to text you a congrats message yet (I'm waiting for Leicester to buy Cyrus and ;)Adam Barton for a combined fee of £30m, so we can afford to move back to Cov, then I'll buy you a beer as well as send that text!!)
