The season is more about transition for me but would like to think we’ll make a real go of it next season with some more investment/reinvestment.

Yeah, I'd happily take top 10 this season with a look to kick on next.
We've had a massive overhaul, and we'd not have even challenged the play offs last season without Hamer and Gyokeres imo

Just the Ian Wright one. There’s an interesting one for Sakamoto which I didn’t quite catch the words for but ends with ‘super sub from Tokyo’
Need some of the ‘skilled’ song writers to knock one up for Simms. Would be good for him to know that the Twitter lot are in the minority and he’s got the fans behind him

I don't buy that. You have to aim to get better each season. Lots of managers/clubs have come unstuck saying it's a long term project and we're in a period of transition.

We’ve had a couple of games and in both had chances to put the games to bed. Both games were lost at the death and in both the tide seemed to turn after Hamer went off.
I do think Simms has a very heavy touch but once settled I think he will become the best finisher at the club. Hopefully he and wright will build a good understanding…as yet only had a few mins together.
The defenders haven’t settled into a group yet…hopefully when they do they will be solid…they have looked ok individually for 80mins+ but then get punished for late lapses.
Time to worry…not yet but some expectations might need to be tempered.

We've played 2 games, one of which is a tinpot cup which we generally exit early. We were unlucky against Leicester.

Everyones up in arms and hysterical that weve wasted money on every purchase...get a grip! I hope the new players dont read these forums, otherwise I would seriously fear for their mental health.

If I remeber rightly, we were up in arms when he signed Vik on a permanent as his loan spell wasnt exactly prolific.

People need to chill out a bit, givem them time to settle and for Robins to work with them. You'll feel much less stressed being positive than frothing at the mouth because after 5 minutes we're not top of the league.

Thank you!
Don't be ridiculous. Meltdowns are what we do best.

I still think a twist on the Kolo/Yaya Toure song would be good for him and Wright

I'd like a version of Eloise (The Damned from my usual modern collection :) ) changed to Ellis. Not sure it would catch on but I have a rewrite not too far from the original.

They have hardly trained together some of these players, they will take time to gel. I'm sure they have other stuff to sort out like getting accomodation, moving their stuff here, maybe sorting schooling for kids, getting to know area and new colleagues, getting used to a new culture and country, learning or improving a new language.

Some fans can be pretty clueless and unforgiving, or even totally unrealistic.

Maybe have a word with the choir master or whoever decides these things, not sure who he is though.

The problem with a load of people on here is they get pissed up and emotional watching the game and post a load of crap because they loose rationality. I imagine sometimes they look back and think they probably shouldn't have had that last shandy.
I wish I really could believe that having a few too many shandies was to blame skyblu3sk. Might be for a couple of folks. For the majority of the 'totally mental brigade' on here - I seriously think they don't need any shandies to go completely hysterical and reach for the Samaritans help line if we go 1-0 down.

We just have a lot of clowns supporting us unfortunately. I'm not even particularly patient myself, with the money we've spent i really expect top 6, i also have no problem with people having opinions on players being rubbish if they've been around long enough for people to form a proper opinion on them... but jumping on the backs of brand new players, most of them young, many relocating from other countries, just shows people up as the clueless cunts they are and it helps no one.

You've explained perfectly my reasons for staying away from the forum after we lose.

You are probably right I was just trying to give people a get out clause 🤣🤣.

I was really in two minds after last night, whether to go for it or not

It was quite funny though. We seemed to be cruising and in total control and everyone on the match thread all seemed laid back and wondered who we would be getting in the next round.

Suddenly went 2-1 down and the world imploded and it was all total and complete shit and it was Robins' fault for the subs (in spite of him saying that Hamer wasn't quite match for yet) and the strikers were all a bunch of donkeys and the new signings, a waste of money. 😂

I do often avoid it when we lose usually though, because it really does become end of the world, gloomy at times. 😂

If Godden had put away 1 of his 3 big chances against Leicester the bedwetters would be wanking into their socks saying we're going to win the league.

I had a prime example behind me at the incester , game singing all the songs and loving life when we were 1-0 up then after their second went in saying this is the worst city team he’s seen in 45 years we are getting relegated 🤦‍♂️

And we have. Every single season since Robins came back we have improved and achieved more. I really don't understand why anyone would think, especially at this early stage, that we aren't at least capable of doing the same again. It was always going to be a slow start with the player churn we have been through (and potentially not over yet) but we will get there. The performance against Leicester shows we aren't far away.

I don't disagree but in that case it'd mean not being promoting as underachieving.

I don't see it that way.
Not many clubs improve their position year on year for seven seasons on the spin and our scope to improve on last year is very narrow.

I'm hoping we're in and about the play offs and the recruitment we do this year enables us not to have to churn a large number of players next close season and we can hit the ground running.

Yeah, I agree with you - I see next season as the one to make a real go of it.

Already feel bad for whoever comes in to replace Hamer, will have a target on their back if they don't get a first half hattrick.
