See you all at Millwall. As a genuine fan, it annoys me when people stick up for the club despite criticism often being justified.

If there is any justice in this world we won't succeed under sisu.

It would be sickening if they get some success after how they have behaved, would totally break my heart.

The best day of my life as a ccfc fan was the JR verdict in may last year, had champagne that night!

The above is just from one post. A selection of quotes that go against what you've just written. How can you say you support a team and then come out with utter garbage such it would be sickening if they had some success. Absolute idiotic pleb ramblings. The best day of your life?? Piss off.

There were several posters celebrating that evening and some even saying 'up the council'. Bizarre behaviour from a fan of a football club don't you think?

People do chat shite on here. One person even tried to make out that SISU lost the JR on purpose. And that was after saying that they would win the JR.

I always said they'd lose the JR - never mind.

I wish there were an irreverent forum to discuss art, music and books. These interest me far more than football now.

It appears that you have moved on from the disappointment of supporting a sporting team with so-so results over a number of years. Good luck for the future & finding the firm you now desire. However, I am not as good as you & I still look for the results of CCFC from afar after a lifetime.

Ok, this will probably alienate everyone. I don't understand why everyone repeats the same old well-trodden arguments on almost every thread. Regulars already know each others' positions. We are a microcosm of society; the only thing we have in common is having been born in Coventry and getting hooked on the football club at a young age. Why do the more intelligent people keep replying?

And not all of us have that in common....

Totally agree. Don't get it either.

You make your point, you move on, only in this case, you make your point eleventy billion times and then just keeping repeating it ad nauseum until the end of civilisation.

As you say, we know exactly what Grendel's stance is and Sick Boy's and Italia's and many, many, many others. Why people have to keep reiterating the same thing over and over I find quite baffling.

You may have noticed, I usually steer clear of these tired old threads. Happy to talk about a new stadium (or no new stadium) and what our future is at the Ricoh, but I've stopped talking about how bad Sisu are and how much the council screwed us over. Can't see the point of keep issuing the same stance over and over again.

Best thing to do though mrtrench, is to just ignore the threads and not contribute. I am constantly skating straight past such threads.

It is getting very tiresome, but like a tv channel, you can just switch over.

I'm sorry, you have lost me. I'm going to assume that "firm" is a typo for "team". The thing is, expressing a preference for A over B does not imply I do not like B.

Cute, so the inference is that liking books is so lame that only someone without any friends would do such a thing, correct?
No, the inference is that if you have hobbies, e.g books, films or cars, then you should discuss them with your friends. This is a Coventry City FC forum where you should discuss CCFC. Not books. If you want to talk about books talk to your friends or join a book club.
