Yep 5% understandable. At dave Gorman last night and the young lady behind didn’t know what a bell curve was. It’s my one worry with proportional representation. Giving a voice to insane opinions

Even though that's an alarmingly high number I'm still pleasantly surprised it's that low, I thought there would be even more stupid people than that.
There are, but they didn't know how to fill in the survey

If it’s not on social media it never happened. I bet of those that don’t know about it there’s a high percentage that know about the latest YouTube star and that sort of crap.

There was a YouTuber in Brum yesterday and my daughter showed me a video of thousands of girls gathered, all screaming like they had just seen the Beatles.

American Christians seem to make up a fair number, including several scholars and notably an advisor to a few Republican Presidents.

Hello Tony sorry I thought this was a UK survey I didn’t realise it was a US one

I wasn't aware of what a "bell curve" was either tbh, until I just googled it.

Absolutely this. The interweb could have revolutionised and democratised our acccess to information meaning education for all, instead we have cat videos, fake news, echo chambers and arguing the toss with complete strangers. If you disagree with this, you don't know what you're talking about, stupid. :finger:

A lot of people also believe the US never landed a man on the moon, it was all recorded in a Hollywood film studio.

I believe both happened, with pre-recorded footage taken as a back-up in case something went wrong with the camera feed etc. Can you imagine if they's had the news and said "now we go live to the moon landings" and the picture just went blank? There'd have been even more conspiracy theories than there are now.

Another good stat is the number of Nazis who denied the Holocaust at the Nuremberg Trials... 0. Yes that's right, not a single Nazi denied it had actually happened and yet Holocaust deniers do.

What is it?

Normal distribution of data, looks like a bell when you plot it. Most things are on a bell curve, height, weight, intelligence. Just what you’d expect an average distribution to be.
