Anyone else noticed on this years game how if you do one with another club, we are always shite and Robins is near enough sacked in October/November every time?
On my current one MR was sacked in December and we’re a point above the drop zone in March. Took in over £50 million in transfer fees and spent just £3m!

Just noticed FM24 for PS5 is free on PS+extra this month

Never played the Console edition, might give it a bash

Some details of FM25 were released today. Appears they're going for a dumbed down user interface in an attempt to appeal to a new / inexperienced audience. As someone who's played all but 2 editions since CM93, I can't help but worry that the whole PC experience will be watered down and end up like a mobile game.

All I’ve wanted for some time is a match engine that wasn’t wank. That should always have been the priority instead of tinkering with the UI

I get that, but I stopped playing because it was just far too time consuming to play properly setting everything up.

Yeah I saw a video about this on YouTube earlier - I just wanna see what the match engine looks like - tbh I'm enjoying FM24 too much to even consider switching over to this when it comes out

I'd need to give the new UI a try before I can really get an idea of it, generally I hate the changes for as long as it takes me to get used to them but this seems like a fair old overhaul. Not happy they're getting shot of the touchline shouts though, even if they don't work all that realistically screaming blue murder is the closest I get to tactical nous.

I totally get the worry it will get ruined but let's be honest the last 4 or so have been almost identical other than database updates anyway.

All stuff the forums can and will continue to do for FM24. Time for a big overhaul really. May take a few years to iron out stuff but they will get there.

And if you hate it FM24 will 100% be updated by the community for years to come.

Started a new save with the updated end of August DB. Holidayed through a season to take over at Cov at the end of it. Robins got sacked, Mowbray took over, they finished 17th and signed John Fleck to plug the CM crisis! I feel a bit dizzy

On my 4th club also, Got sacked at Cov in Jan in first season. Went to Bristol Rovers got to the Championship in 2 years recieved 0 backing and lost 3 key players so left for Stade de Reims in france had 2 years there consolidating them as a mid table ligue 1 side and moved on to Southampton in the Premier League who are now mid table challenging for Europe.
Trouble is my tactics score loads of goals but concedes a lot as well, no idea how to sure up a defence,
I play a Vertical Tiki Taka, 433(1DM) if anyone has any ideas to sure up my backline please give a shout 😂

Got FM24 when it was free for a period of time the other week (would have posted about it in here if I knew this thread existed!)

Got the updated database. Signed Matty James of course. Which was handy because then Eccles broke his ankle and Sheaf pulled his hamstring or something.

Came second behind Norwich. Wright was class, league top scorer with 25 odd goals.

Haji is unreal in FM, I always look for Inverted Wingers or Inside Forwards similar to him stylistic wise, unless like in my Southampton save where I get a Brazilian wonderkid Mezzala who pops 20 goals a season then I get a more stronger defensive and assister

There's always a point in FM games where you get so far in the game completely turns in on itself, I think 2033/34 is that point for me

Having won all six competitions and smashed Villa to pieces to say goodbye to the CBS, absolutely nothing can possibly go wro-

Do you get to name the stadium or does the game do it?

I’m in 2039, playing in the 68,000 seater Coventry Stadium and am officially a Coventry legend alongside Hill, Sillett, Curtis, Oggy and Brazilian, Ibson. 6 Champions League titles in a row will do that for you though.

It’s the realism that sets Football Manager apart 😂

I don't know if it's partly because of it or just happy coincidence but I signed Maddison on a free from Spurs at 32 years old, he helped me win the first ever league title and then swanned off to Saudi Arabia for £80m, not a bad bit of business

I've recently started the Pentagon challenge - start unemployed with no badges and have to win the Champions League (or equivalent) in five different continents. I've owned every CM and all but one FM since 92/93, and other than the italia version this is the first time I've managed abroad. It's a very different experience, as you don't have the time to build a legacy (or build up finances). Finding it challenging at times, which is a very refreshing thing after so many years of playing.

I quite enjoyed a venture out to France in my rtg, its always fun to try different places and can give you a reputation boost if you get them competing at the top
