I'm certain we're not finished and we'll have a decent squad when the window is over. I also realise we've done a lot more than Forest but it doesn't take away the worry going into the first game.We may not have finished doing our business yet, but with 4 days to go it might be a little optimistic to expect a couple of additions which I foolishly am.
I think that we look better going forward, possibly similar but with less backup in the middle and the goalkeeper is a question mark.
The defence has undoubtedly gone backwards though. I really thought we'd have bought two starters in early in the window, not been with no new players at all, not even backups, a few days before the first game.
It's not really. If you look back at the league 2 gates it's great growth. We need to win back those extra fans. It's still a season like no other more so for us than any other club. It will be interesting to see how it goes attendance wise.

I know I'm being a Debbie Downer, but it feels like the squad is actually quite far away from where it needs to be.
I'm still looking forward to the game, obviously, but I am worried as things stand.
This reflects a lot of teams in the championship going into the new campaign. About a third of the league are yet to sign more than 1 player after releasing a lot more.
Obviously we’re all focused on our team, but we seem to be in a better situation than a lot of clubs.
Forest finished below us yet have only signed 1 player. Doesn’t look great going into the season.
What else do people need to be won back?
We're back at the Ricoh. Back playing big teams. Back in the Championship after 2 promotions. 2 Wembley wins.
The excuses are running out.
People like you need a reality check, there's a "hardcore" fan base of around 12k, and that's it!What else do people need to be won back?

If we’ve got 10,000 season ticket holders, there’s at least 5-7k fans who walk up. With that amount of season ticket holders the average should be around what it was when the Ricoh first opened.People like you need a reality check, there's a "hardcore" fan base of around 12k, and that's it!
It doesnt matter how cheap the season tickets are, you arnt selling more than 12k max!
It's not a case of people needing excuses, people in Coventry just arnt bothered enough to attend regularly, so that's exactly why sisu have built the business model around realistic attendances.
I'd be suprised if we fill more than 3/4 of the stadium for the first game back.
And come the Preston game in the middle of winter, you wouldn't fill 3/4 of the ground if you gave the tickets away!
Who is a backup goalkeeper.
Winning run in the Championship. Big name player coming in. I hear exactly what you say but some people need more. What else do people need to be won back?

We should be looking to finish above Derby, Blackburn and the promoted sides as a minimum.Anyone can say what they like about our recruitment, but I’d rather be in our situation than theirs.
Then you’ve got clubs like Derby, Blackburn, Swansea and Reading who are all significantly weakened over the summer.
We’ve got a good young squad so players like COH, Hamer, Sheaf, Walker, Gyo (and so on) are likely to get develop and get better too.

Price doesn’t seem an issue for the other 23 teams fan basesDoes all that good stuff mean they’ll take the game off TV and chop a tenner off prices?

Agreed. There’s a lot of teams in a worse position than usPersonally, I think we will and I’m sure Robins does too.
The big name player won’t work, we signed Joe Cole and charged £20 less and that didn’t tempt people backExactly. We’re on here and talking to each other but that’s preaching to the converted.
There are thousands that will “see how it goes”, and a lot of them aren’t going to pay £30 when they can watch for free or in a pub.
I don’t understand why people think there’s missing fans. We’ve sold 10k STs, most for 40 years.
We’ll probably get 17-18k average, again pretty much what we’ve had every year in the Premier League/Championship.
Prepare to be dissappointed. They don't just come automatically back - they have got out of the habit in the meantime, and have found other pursuits to fill time. It might change if we threatened to get in the play offs.If we’ve got 10,000 season ticket holders, there’s at least 5-7k fans who walk up. disappointed if we’re not matching the 21-22k we were then
Trite nonsense. 15 mins after we scored against wolves in a friendly the atmosphere was great.Prepare to be dissappointed. But why suddenly go to watch a struggling team? People do have other things to do with their cash. It is not helped by how ghastly the stadium is. It may be in Coventry but it is still a crap stadium. There is a better atmosphere in my local supermarket

Sorry I am told club expecting 20kso they had sold 22k but only expecting 20k?
Actually I think all the corporate etc is pretty much sold out this season .Shame sky cameras face the empty stand
So there’s 18k CCFC fans who have got tickets already? Doubtful or you’re looking close to a sell out
