some turnaround that. We just need to find a way to carry a bit more threat without jeopardising are new found defensive solidity too much.

Such a blow to never have the luxury of both Godden & Walker available at the same time.
Every team has had to contend with injuries more than ever this season but it obviously has a bigger impact on the smaller/weaker teams.

I don't think we're too far off, just need to improve the decision making & quality in the final third.

Appoint a witch doctor to bring back Walker, Kelly and Marosi.

I'm not sure Marosi will help too much in the attacking department!

Would be great to have Walker fit but I can't see him being fully match fit for months. I don't think we'll see him at his best until next season.
Kelly back might allow Robins to risk pushing O'Hare further forward more.

You expect to pick up knocks over a season, perhaps lose players for a couple of games on the spin. Each time we get one it’s been minimum 6 weeks and the player has to be carefully nursed back to match fitness. That and for both Godden and Marosi they are just freak injuries

He gives me fewer jitters on the ball than Wilson! And he still gave me a few anyway...

We need short term cover for the other positions though. At central midfield there must be at least a few decent free agents knocking about. If Hamer also gets clattered we really struggle in that part of the pitch

whether 1 or 2 up top we still leave the strikers very isolated. When we were chasing the game against Derby we had two strikers and 3 midfielders in the box when we scored and Hamer the scorer lurking on the edge.

We rarely create those type of situations, but of course, if we pile forward at every opportunity we'll be back to square one. That's the conundrum Robins has to solve.

and of course Hamer was booked again yesterday so suspension as well as injury could see him miss games.
I actually thought he was quite disciplined yesterday but copped that yellow near the end.

A lot of the goals we conceded weren’t to do with being caught on the break or being dragged out of position though. For the most part, as they have been since that break, it was set pieces, daft penalties and giving the ball away in needless positions.

Previously he was getting cards in the first half and having to be brought off early. He is getting better at it which is all we can ask for.

Did he get booked? Can’t recall that

Yeah, he was caught up the field & they broke away so he cynically tripped their player from behind just by the halfway line. Another of their players picked up possession & ref tried to play advantage so Hamer intentionally took him out too 🤣

I remember, Clive said that will be a booking for Hamer which is why I thought he'd been booked but the ref didn't card him.

Our head coach as been in charge for 14 games now, and we’re play off place contention form during them 14 games.
He definitely doesn’t like draws, if we’re drawing late on he goes shit or bust.

Balance or Ceteris Paribus if you want to be posh.

Or the ref was more lenient than usual. Neither BBC nor Sky showing any bookings for us.

as Frostie said, he got away with a couple at the end, (that's what I thought he'd been booked for), but earlier in the game there were a couple of occasions where he went to make a challenge but stopped because he knew he wasn't getting the ball, in the same situation earlier in the season I think he commits a foul.
Hopefully he's learning.

not this c**t again........

Got another stat for ya pal, in 2020 we’ve played 41 games and picked up 59 points with Rotherham still to play on Tuesday. We’ve been in play off chasing form all year, with one of the smallest budgets in the league.

Not a bad side us pal.

Rotherham should be a banker for you guys.... fair play.... makes our result against you seem more acceptable.

We’re going under the radar a little bit and the moment, myself and most of our fan base can see just how well we’re doing on the pitch, but we’re also building a very good 40/50 man squad, we’ve got a first team squad with the average age of just under 23, but we’ve also got an under 23 squad that’s sat 3rd in the development league table having won 7 of our 11 games. Judging by our summer signings we’re continuing to get recruitment right, and we’ll no doubt bring in 3or4 players in January, plus we’ve got the players developing in the under 23s that have a clear pathway to the first team.

At the moment fans of opposition clubs aren’t really seeing us as an emerging threat to the top end of the league, but like I’ve been saying on here since I signed up, we really are, our clubs improving in all areas, scouting, recruitment, contract negotiation, and back room staff, but most importantly the players are improving with every game. If we continue as we are we’ll be an established top half club at the very least, over the next few years, key to us continuing to improve, is getting the timing right as to when we sell players, if we can do that we’ll go from strength to strength in my opinion.

@Barnsley I was listening to an Athletic podcast a few weeks ago, with Paul Conway, discussing the type of model you have within your club. Was a fascinating listen, well worth checking out if you've not listened already.

Are you concerned that the Employment rules after 1st Jan will affect your recruitment policy, both in terms of players and staff? It's something which could impact us as well, as players like Hamer may have struggled for a work permit post-brexit

Hamer is Brazilian isn’t he ? So I’m assuming he has passed the employment rules we have with that country. Not sure of what the new rules are but earning a minimum of £25k per year is one.
