Coventry’s former Sky Blues Supporters’ Club up for auction for £600k to £800k
The building in Freehold Street, Hillfields, was bought by the Coventry City fans group in the late 1970s.coventryobserver.co.uk
What's the history of the club in terms of ownership?
Who actually owns it now ?
(or more importantly, who's getting the ££££s?)
How did it come to get into private hands, was there an equitable payout to the fans that owned it?
Was bought in August 2020 from private owners it seems, no price recorded.

Most of those shirts belonged to me
I'd claim them back before somebody else takes them
The WM club at Eastern Green was simply rammed every weekends (and probably most weekdays as I recall), packed to the rafters with those that worked in the Banner Lane factories, not least Massey Ferguson and Wickmans. You couldn't see from one end to the other, though that was because of the blue smoke!
Makes me sad, the way decent industries have gone, and that sense of community.
Look's like a typical Coventry working men's club or social club. Most of these being lost to history now. WMPTE, Coventry Evening Telegraph etc.
Gone but not forgotten.
Learned and played chess in these places growing up as so did many former councillors, and dare I say it, MPs.
Look: History of Coventry's long lost social clubs brought to life
Coventry's social clubs and working men's clubs were once at the heart of the city's social life - and saw visits from royaltywww.coventrytelegraph.net
Yes I loved them too.Still love a WMC.
I don't think the love carried on to the next generations though. Fuck you Starbucks.
First thing i thought of when you mentioned the WMP club was Chess...!
Yes I played there a few times. There is still a number that can remember the backroom upstairs of the Coventry Evening Telegraph social club on a Tuesday night.
The chess club is apparently over here now. I guess it depends when restrictions are lifted.

We got a hold of the old league trophy a few years ago, amazing some of the teams on there. Bell Green of all places had a few league winning sides, imagine walking round there with a board and set now

I love it when a few women come in that you’ve never seen before, every bloke in there tries their luck hahaStill love a WMC.

Selling HR worst decision the club's ever made!I just wonder about these things, who gains from fans's generosity and support. The rebuilt Main Stand at Highfield Road was built with donations (at least, contributions), all to someone's private pocket even as scrap.
How I wish it the ground still existed and we were still there. Shame on the lot of them for selling us out.
Loved the pre match pub run on the way to HRSelling HR worst decision the club's ever made!
Didn't realise the supporters club was still there.
